Speaking of LEGO, the company issue a press release today announcing that their partnership with Lucasfilm to produce sets based on the Star Wars license has been renewed for another 10 years. Click through for the complete press release.
Our Toy Fair 2012 Galleries are updated again today with images from LEGO. There were some great new sets on display this year covering the Clone Wars, The Old Republic and the Original Trilogy. Some highlights were the Sith Fury-Class Interceptor from SWTOR, the Malevolence Cruiser from Clone Wars and my favorite, Jabba’s Palace with an awesome Jabba the Hutt mini figure that’s not so mini! Looks like Hasbro isn’t the only one who’s products are showing up before the street date. Today I spotted the new LEGO Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor at Target. This set includes 3 new “Hard-to-Find” figures: ROTS Anakin Skywalker (with 2 different faces), Nute Gunray and Obi-Wan Kenobi as well as a Security Battle Droid and R2-D2. In addition to Hasbro Star Wars items, which we covered in Part 1 of our Year In Review Series, 2011 saw many other new additions to Star Wars collecting from the four-figure priced Sideshow Legendary Scale figures to the Star Wars magnetic mini licence plates from Topps, and so much in between. On this week’s second part of our Year in Review series, Arnie, Marjorie, Jerry, Berent, Jay, and Steve look at all the other Star Wars collectibles this year.
