It appears that GameStop has bumped the price of the mainline figures (PFP wave and later) and the ROTJ40 figures to $26.99 each. With prices of exclusives already at $28.99, we’ll be offered basic figure repaints for $30+ before the year is over — if they can move the glut of peg warming Gaming Greats that is.
As we’re all well aware, increased costs for manufacturers worldwide since the pandemic started continue to affect us today and Hasbro is not immune (no pun intended). Retailers/distributors have been notified that price increases will go into effect in the coming months. It may take some time for those prices to hit shelves and online stores but expect to pay a few bucks more per figure (in all scales) before too long.
With this news, how will it impact your collecting?

Another round of price increases are hitting online retailers as the cost of materials and skyrocketing shipping/transportation costs from China affect the market. For example the Black Series line recently increased about $1.50 per standard (non-exclusive) figure, and now another increase of $2.00 is planned pushing MSRPs to near $25. Exclusives will approach $30 and Deluxe figures around $40. Obviously, these increases won’t be limited to Black Series, Star Wars or even Hasbro.
Poking around the Walmart app this morning yielded results for the leaked* assortment breakdown of next year’s Black Series Archive wave. Word is they are $22.99 each – will there be a higher price point for the Black Series next year and will other lines/scales be affected as well?
