Star Wars Tech Decks Kick Flip Their Way Into Target

techdeck

Our friends at JediDefender posted news today that Star Wars Tech Decks (from Spin Master) have started showing up at Target hot off the announcement from Santa Cruz. For the uninitiated, Tech Decks are mini skateboards (about 3.5″-4″ depending on board style) that reproduce current or vintage skateboard designs. Seeing as that I grew up a “skater”, these will definitely be on my radar to acquire. The question is, can I still land a pop shove-it to 5-0 grind? Spring Price Exploring at Target?

targetclearance

Living in Minnesota, home to retailer Target, our stores are often used as a test market for product roll outs as well as pricing – meaning that a particular item at one store may cost higher or lower depending on the area of “the Metro” (Minneapolis/St. Paul and its suburbs). Our friend Jeff at JediDefender has posted an interesting observation in his area regarding “spring price exploring” for Saga Legends, Mission Series, The Black Series products.

Could this be just a regional experiment or can the rest of the country expect an average 10% bump in Star Wars action figure pricing as well? Like most things, only time will tell.

Target Implements Security Measures for LEGO Sets

Upon making my usual stop at Target this morning, I noticed that they have started affixing foil, tamper-evident, security stickers on all of their LEGO sets priced $29.99 or higher.

It would be nice if Toys”R”Us would utilize this method of theft prevention instead of using those Spider security devices we’ve all seen marring the boxes of vehicles like the Millennium Falcon, Republic Gunship and AT-AT.

Scout Trooper Helmet Issue

Issues continue to mount with Hasbro’s 2013 line, ranging from questionable figure selections to bubbles falling right off the pegs… and now today I came across two Black Series Scout Troopers with severely warped helmet ridges…

Hopefully this is an isolated incident… but if it’s not, collectors will surely leave these on the pegs and kids that receive them as presents will be disappointed.   Anyone else coming across this?  Share your thoughts/reports after the jump!
