There looks to be a running change for the new 6″ Black Series Clone Commander Bly figure. Initial releases neglected to include the brown stripe on the lower part of the helmet (under the frown). Instagram follower disneyland_bountyhunter sent in the image on the right showing the helmet with the corrected deco (date stamp 93431)
If this sounds familiar, the ROTS figure (III-57) also had this error and subsequent variant back in 2005.
As if figure and packaging variations weren’t enough, Casey B. tipped me off to a running change for the display frame for the Darth Vader Legacy Pack. First shipments (both red and brown eye variants) included a silver double racing stripe frame. Current shipments now feature white stripes (not the music band). Click the image above that I snapped for closer look.
Speaking of variants, a new figure variant has surfaced that actually improves upon the pre-existing figure. Newer releases of #02 Luke Skywalker (Hoth) now feature color matched (tan) elbow pins. The original VC95 and TBS #02 releases has contrasting gray pins that stood out quite noticeably. Click the image above for a closer look.
Thanks to our friend Matt Booker from JediNews for the heads up.
As suspected, the initial shipments of the Black Series #08 Stormtrooper that included the “#08” sticker on the card back and bubble insert covering the “#15” have been corrected. My recent case from Entertainment Earth included 2 stormtroopers, both feature this correction. The date stamp is 50651. Our show returns this week as Flyguy and I discuss the latest in Star Wars news and collecting. Finally, Star Wars Rebels figures are starting to hit stores from coast to coast. Plus, Black Series 3-3/4” Wave 6 is being found quite regularly at Target and Toys”R”Us. New images for the SH Figuarts line of 6” figures have hit the web and they do look impressive… most impressive. The biggest news this past week was the reveal of the title of Star Wars Episode VII. If anything, it further “awakened” our curiosity as to what we can expect next year. All this and much more on Episode 39 of The Realm Recap!
