Yesterday I managed to score most of the new wave of Vintage Collection figures at aTarget here in Minnesota. I took some new images of the Princess Leia (Bespin Escape) figure to show that not all is lost with this figure. Straight out of the package, her braids are malformed and pressed against her head. After submerging her head in hot water for a few seconds, the plastic returns to its intended shape and looks much better. Click on through to check out a few more images.
There apparantly is at least one more 6″ Black Series Credit Collection figure in the works — code named “Eel“. Interestingly the last time that code was used was for Rogue One and “Eel Commander” was attributed to Saw Gerrera. I believe JediInsider had reported back in December that there were more Credit Collection figures coming for The Mandalorian, so we’ll chalk up the sharing of the code name to coincidence.
Additional code names for the upcoming rumored assortment of 6″ Black Series Comic/Publishing-based fan channel figures have been passed on to us and it looks like they are flower themed: Lilac, Lily, Lotus, and Lavender. No word exactly as to which characters they are assigned.
It also appears that Hasbro will be releasing Rey’s yellow lightsaber as part of the Black Series ForceFX Elite line. No word on MSRP but it is probably comparable to other Elite sabers in the lineup.
We’ve received intel on a few new TVC code names for some “pipeline” figures coming later this year. To whom they correspond with has yet to be determined but the names are as follows: “Magnolia”, “Marigold” and “Mayflower”. Could they correlate to the rumored Gaming Greats figures for the Vintage Collection? Maybe we’ll find out in a future Fan First Friday.
Yakface Reader Mike N. shared these new in-hand shots of the next wave of TVC figures that have apparantly started to hit Target in AZ and were listed on eBay and Mercari. The VC numbering is a follows:
Recent shipping information shows that cases of the 6″ Deluxe Boba Fett (ROTJ) has started to arrive at Hasbro’s warehouse in Canada. Hopefully an image of the final production piece surfaces soon.
In light of the recent events surrounding the character of Cara Dune, we’ve received word that the planned reissues of the 6″ Black Series and Vintage Collection figures have been cancelled. Hasbro still intends to release the Retro Collection version as planned.
