Customizer Mega Spotlight

051115spotlight

Once again we stop to take look at more great custom figures being made by various members of our forum community!

First up, I-am-Boba-Fett has created a fantastic female Mandalorian that you won’t want to miss – check out several images of this awesome figure here.

Next, forum member Customjedi shares a fan-fic custom of Major Kem Monnon, who was the chief of the Rebel Alliance Corps of Engineers as part of his ESB prequel story.

We also welcome RTripp to the forums, who shares a Darth Sidious repaint, as well as several more custom figures.

Last but not least, we are treated to another masterpiece by Evilivo, as he shows off images of his fantastic take on Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper disguise.

Which One’s the Smuggler?

Forum member Darth Vlad’s Clone has shared nearly a dozen pics for your viewing pleasure of the new 6″ Black Series Han Solo in Stormtrooper gear – all side by side with the standard Stormtrooper.  Check out the pics, and let’s hear your thoughts in the forums!

Personal Note:  I’ll always be a 3.75″ scale collector, and want Hasbro to mostly focus on that line, but the more OT figures they make in this scale, the more I’m caving in and liking them.

In 2005, The Force Was Alive

ROTS

A decade ago, a lot of us were in Star Wars collecting heaven with the ROTS product launch, and literally throwing our money at Star Wars as we ate up the action figure line.  Our good friends at jeditemplearchives have posted some great pics of the retail launch back then.  Take a trip down memory lane, and enjoy the images by clicking here!

Personal Note:  In my opinion, Hasbro should be looking back at what made that toy line so popular and needs a similar approach for The Force Awakens… great variety of vehicles, characters, troops, background aliens, weird droids, nice sculpts, good articulation, etc.  There were very few duds in the ROTS line, and the low price point and excitement for the brand were able to wash the silly figures like “spinning Yoda” and “Force kick Obi Wan” right off the pegs.  Star Wars needs a ROTS-kind of commitment from Hasbro again for this toy line to dominate the toy section like it used to.

When Toy Runs are Depressing… Customize!

customdroids

Retail toy runs have been quite depressing for some time now for a lot of us, but with some spare parts, a touch of paint and a bit of effort, I always find that customizing can add a lot of magic back into the hobby.

Head on over to the forums for a closer look at a handful of oddball droids I just put together, and if you are interested in starting customizing or have work of your own to share, be sure to start a thread of your own in our customizing section.

If TFA is 5POA, will you still play?

There’s rumblings among fans (though nothing is confirmed, so don’t freak out yet) that Hasbro may be abandoning the quality of figures so many of us have grown to know and love over the years in favor of a 5POA-only line for the upcoming Episode VII 3.75″ scale line.

If Hasbro did go this route, how would this affect your buying habits?  Would you be pleased?  Freaked out?  Done altogether?  Would you even care?  Share your thoughts here or join in the debate in our forums!
