The official site has posted their 2014 checklist of exclusives available at SDCC this year, and within the listings they announce the Star Wars Celebration Pin Trading Program. Artist Christopher Lee (whom you may recall from last year with this great Vintage-style poster) is lending his talents to produce a series of 45 unique character pins/badges – the first of which will be available at SDCC when you purchase a ticket for Star Wars Celebration Anaheim from the Lucasfilm Pavillion (Booth #2913).
We were passed this image of the upcoming Toys”R”Us reset coming this August and it appears that Star Wars’ considerable amount of retail space will be shared with Disney’s other property — Marvel.

The Jedi have been wiped out and the Empire spreads tyranny through the galaxy. Hope runs thin. But on the small planet of Lothal a big change is looming. A group of rebels meet a 14-year-old con artist named Ezra and soon it’s clear their destinies are linked. Aboard their ship, the Ghost, Ezra and the rebels embark on an adventure to ignite a rebellion and strike back against the Empire.

The Associated Press has published a story about the Mattel’s Hot Wheels partnership with Lucasfilm and Disney, detailing the features of the life-size, full drivable Darth Vader car that will be on display. They also reveal the names of a few new character cars as well as some that are in the works.

EW.com is confirming that actor Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter franchise) has indeed been cast (confirming a report from theforce.net) as the voice of the Inquisitor in the series Star Wars Rebels.

There are very strong rumors circling about that director Rian Johnson (Looper, Breaking Bad) has been tapped to write and direct Episode VIII and write the treatment for Episode IX.
Nothing is officially confirmed at this point but expect an announcement soon.
