Hasbro, we have another problem…
With all the frustration collectors have had to endure this year, one thing that seemed to really have people excited was the upcoming K-Mart exclusive AT-ST. Well, that might have just gone out the window.
The good news is, this has now been found at retail… but the bad news is, it appears that loose collectors are going to be upset when they open the box – click on the image above for the scoop on the inconsistent paint job that Hasbro gave this thing, and thanks to forum member Jedighost009 for the pics.
TVC AT-ST Hitting Kmart Soon
Thanks to a report from our friends at Jedi Temple Archives, it looks like we can expect the TVC AT-ST in stores relatively soon. Head on over to JTA to check out the shelf tags that are making their way into Kmart aisles this week.
Also, if you’d like to save yourself a trip, you can call your local store with UPC: 653569762034 to see of they’ve received their stock yet.
Ewok and Yavin Sets Hitting TRU
Our friends at BanthaSkull are reporting (by way of HissTank) that the Ewok Pack and the Yavin Pilot Pack have been found in California. Also, on twitter, @MattGuzy (from awesometoyblog.com) found these in Arizona as well. These sets are exclusive to TRU and retail for $39.99.
Toyguide Update: Vintage Droid Set
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Target Exclusive Vintage Droid Set from The Vintage Collection.
PROS: Hasbro crosses another one of those original Vintage 3-packs off their lists with this release and in a surprise move, they’ve actually given us something new! While the Death Star Droid is a repack of the TLC B.A.D. figure and the R5-D4 is a repaint of the TSC “The Saga Collection” mold. The Power Droid is an all-new design (gone is the frustrating “walking” feature in lieu of articulated legs) plus a bonus hidden feature: a removable access cover.
CONS: The $24.99 pricepoint may be off-putting to some. The Power Droid is cast in a tan plastic which immediately sent a tremor through the force, and forums, begging Hasbro for a true blue release.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this set is worth adding to your collection.
You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
