6″ C-3PO Resistance Base Variant
It was something we mentioned in our initial review of this figure and now it looks like Hasbro has addressed the oversight as they have issued a variant to the 6″ Black Series C-3PO (Resistance Base) figure. Instead of the cheap looking plain red arm, they have now given it a proper, screen accurate deco. I’ll definitely be picking this version up.

Another Black Series GameStop Report
Cory writes in with a report from my backyard tonight:
Hey guys. My name is Cory Pals and I thought I’d drop a line and let you know that I found some new 6 inch Black Series figures at the GameStop at the Mall of America tonight. I found and bought Darth Revan, Snowtrooper, Obi-wan Kenobi, and Sabine Wren. I was shocked to find them because I haven’t even seen a hint of the previous set anywhere.

New/Old Aisle Shippers Hitting Target Soon
Target is prepping another update this weekend that will see the return of pre-packed aisle shippers. The catch is that they are loaded with new/current Rogue One) product and old stock like the Kanan/Ahsoka wave of 6″ Black Series figures, Chewbacca Mom masks, 12″ TFA Hero Series figures and the like.

Walgreens Exclusive C-3PO is More Than a Repaint
In case you don’t read too deeply in to our Toyguide Update for the Walgreens Exclusive 6″ Black Series C-3PO, we felt that a standalone post for this was warranted. It turns out that the Walgreens version has a distinct sculpt to its abdomen and is not a simple repaint of the Resistance Base version.

The Yakface Toyguide updates continue with our next entry in the 6″ Black Series assortment with the Walgreens Exclusive C-3PO.
PROS: Now this is a droid you recognize! We finally have 6″ version of C-3PO to pair with our favorite astromech, R2-D2. Like the C-3PO (Resistance Base) that came before, the sculpt on this version is fantastic and painted very well, even without the vac-metal finish. What is also surprising is that (despite what you may have read elsewhere) this figure is not just a repaint of the Resistance Base version. The Walgreens C-3PO features a distinctly painted AND SCULPTED wired abdomen section. Huge kudos to Hasbro for not just phoning it in and giving us something truly unique.
CONS: For as in-demand as an Original Trilogy version of C-3PO has been (and rumored), it is surprising that this version is a retailer exclusive. Again, no accessories are included with Threepio which seems like a bit of a slight considering the possibilities.
