It is hard to believe we are only a few short days away to providing our coverage of this year’s Toy Fair in New York. There have been a lot of shake-ups in the collecting landscape since last year so hopefully we’ll get some clarification and reassurances from Hasbro that all is not lost as we head into 2013 and beyond.

Our friends at JediDefender have posted a rumor of a possible 6″ exclusive figure (or figure set) from Hasbro at this year’s SDCC. While specifics aren’t known at this time, Toy Fair is only a few days away.
Hasbro has released (to the fan sites now) their official announcement of the Star Wars “The Black Series” line of collectibles. Read on for the info dump and high-res images.
PAWTUCKET, R.I.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) today announced it will webcast presentations from its annual Investor Event at Toy Fair on Friday, February 8, 2013 beginning at 8:00 AM eastern time. The webcast will include presentations by the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Brian Goldner, and Chief Financial Officer, Deborah Thomas, as well as other Hasbro Senior Executives. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
The webcast will be available live to investors and the media on Hasbro’s Investor Relations home page at http://investor.hasbro.com. A replay of the webcast will be available approximately two hours following the completion of the event at the same location on Hasbro’s Investor Relations Web site.

Hasbro today has announced a new 6″ scale figures dubbed Star Wars “The Black Series”.
After 35 years of fantastic plastic standing tall in pop culture at 3¾ inches, Hasbro is releasing the Star Wars Black Series this year, beginning a new set of 6-inch figures that will feature more articulation and an increased attention to detail.
Priced at $19.99 each, eight figures are planned for 2013 — Hasbro will primarily draw characters from the original Star Wars trilogy of films while also bringing in key players from the prequels.
