According to a trusty source at Coreplanets.com, at least one St. Louis area Target has started putting the new vintage figures on the pegs. They seem to be ringing up fine at the registers and are priced at $7.99.
So, if you don’t have a Target in your area and haven’t found these yet, it might be worth your while to swing by your local Target to see if you can score these for yourself.
As we gear up for Comic Con, let’s take a look at the new Jabba the Hutt.
So what’s in store?
Packaging: Standard to all the Shadow the the Darkside packaging, Captain Rex overlooks the dark sky and we are given an amazing piece of art of everything that is contained in the box: Jabba, throne, Salacious Crumb, and Oola the Dancing Girl!
So what about the figure set itself?:
The throne is all new with rolling wheels and GREAT sculpting detail on the surface. The gargoyle heads on the front and sides look great but are TINY. They do have real metal rings though! The hooka is just a rehash of what we got in the SAGA Ultra set….nothing new there. Thrown in for a little decoration is eight pillows of various colors and sizes, a suprise (but welcomed) touch!
Salacious Crumb is a slight retool on the Crumb that was included with the TAC C-3PO. Well sculpted, but sits awakwardly on the throne (because he was sculpted to be sitting on C-3PO’s shoulders).
Oola is the stand out hit from the whole set. All new sculpt, super articulated and soft goods outfit (yes, you can even recreate the infamous breast reveal shot from the film). The body of the figure is just a “blank” female body (think Barbie but green).
Jabba himself is all new, beautifully sculpted (even includes the tail scar and the arm tattoo). He has articulation in the head and arms and a “bendy” tail. However…………there is a HUGE flaw with this figure. The body is hollow and the material is a VERY, VERY thin rubbery material covering the body (anyone remember those horrible talking Yodas from the past) that’s what we are dealing with here. Do not be surprised if the body splits and tears over time. MAJOR disappointment.
Overall, pleased with the set, will make a great diorama, and by far the most accurate Jabba to date!
Stay tuned into Yakface as we begin to unload the secrets at San Diego Comic Con 2010! For all the photos, be sure to visit our Facebook page with the complete preview gallery!
The new goods continue to pour in at Toys”R”Us – including the massive Separatist scientist, Kul Teska!
Unless Toys”R”Us runs a promotion, this sucker is going to set you back $14.99… but by the pic above, you can see just how big he is compared to Wat Tambor… but you can decide for yourself if he’s worth it after the jump!
Confirming our rumor report from back in May, eBay power seller “Tunghori” has posted images of 3 clone troopers from the Hidden Enemy Battle Pack. This themed set is based off of the Season 1 CW episode of the same name and includes (so far) clone troopers Gus, Slick and Chopper – complete with Battle Droid finger souvenir necklace! Head to JediDefender for the pics.
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Celebration V Exclusive Camie & Fixer Comic Pack
PROS: “Wormie” finally gets his friends! Well articulated – perfect for Tatooine diorama filler or for fans of cutscene and/or concept figures in general. Plus, they make a great accompaniment to the Academy Biggs Darklighter and Floppy Hat Luke from the TAC line.
CONS: For myself, none but some might consider them a little obscure and difficult to track down after the convention. Accessories are a little light. I would have liked to see Fixer include a set of macrobinoculars.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this set is worth adding to your collection.
Thanks to Hasbro and Hunter PR for providing us this advance sample.
Our friends at JediDefender have acquired front and back box shots of the retooled Imperial TIE Bomber. This new version features a new cockpit with ejector seat, plus a firing missile and dropping bombs. Head over to JediDefender for a closer look and then come back to talk about it inour forums.
The title is a oxymoron, but today an image surfaced of the first non-Original Trilogy Vintage cardback featuring Commander Cody from Revenge of the Sith. This new image also confirms rumors of the return of the UGH-style “chase” figure that will be sprinkled in starting with the ROTS wave. Tap the image above to for a closer look, but be warned OT/Vintage purists as in doing so, your brain might explode or the fabric of space/time might be irreparably torn.

The fourth Entertainment Earth Comic Pack that we’ve been waiting to see has been revealed! Head on over to the forums to discuss.
Among the new items hitting Toys”R”us are the Clone Wars deluxe figures, which includes some great additions to the line… one of those being the new Cad Bane.
This new figure is very well done, fits in pretty good with the regular realistic line, and almost hits the mark in terms of articulation… check out a few pics and share your thoughts on this upgraded bounty hunter after the jump!
