Apart from the Retro Collection Return of the Jedi Wave for 2023, it looks like there is another Retro assortment from another film/show to be released next year.

It looks like the Target exclusive Retro Collection (Prototype Edition) series will continue on into 2023. Like the school codes before it (“Chalk“, “Blackboard“, “Eraser” and “Sharpener“), “Lowercase” continues the theme and has a price point of $14.99. Question is, who will it be? I think Leia is about due for the subline as we’ve gotten 3 villains and 2 heroes, and no female characters thus far, but I guess we’ll see when it’s officially revealed.
Hasbro also revealed today the first look at the Retro Collection wave for Return of the Jedi. Preorders go live tomorrow at 1pm ET.
Hasbro Pulse Con also made a return to the Indiana Jones franchise with announcement of the Indiana Jones Retro Collection. Staying true to the original Kenner design in both figure design and packaging, the line kicks off with the man himself, Indiana Jones, complete with his signature string whip and pistol. This first figure in the wave is available for preorder now with more to be announced later.

For the first time in recent memory, I’m seeing a Star Wars Hasbro wave consistently selling and then getting restocked… and selling again. Are you experiencing this in your area? And how far down the Retro Collection rabbit hole do you want to see Hasbro go?
Personal Note: I’m still just lukewarm to the Retro line. It’s a novelty to me, and I pick and choose a few figures here and there. My preference is for the standard TVC line (though I would be interested in a mid-tier line that has modern sculpts, with 10-12 pts of articulation, and a lot more variety than what is offered today). However if the Retro line continues to gain momentum, it’s hard to see Hasbro deviating from this approach anytime soon.

Hasbro also revealed the next wave of Retro Collection figures to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi. Look for these 6 early next year.
Hasbro made good on completing the first 12 figures from Star Wars by offering this new 6pk of figures for the Retro Collection. It contains Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tusken Raider, Death Squad Commander, Jawa, C-3PO and R2-D2 — both with vac-metal finish!!!
Preorders for this set launch at a later date exclusively at Hasbro Pulse and ShopDisney for around $90.
