Ever since the Vintage Collection hit retail back in March, collectors have been itching for the follow-up wave that includes figures from Solo: A Star Wars Story. We are now on the cusp of June, Solo has hit theaters, but where’s wave 2? Watch for an announcement soon in that regard and this wave looks a lot better than we initially thought in terms of those peg warming carry-forwards from wave 1.
Per our rumor report from April, we have secured (via Brickseek) the UPCs and Walmart SKUs for 4 upcoming 3.75″ figures for the Vintage Collection. We’ve also added this info to our Master List and added links on our Amazon page. Continue the “Vintage Conversation” in our comment section or our forums.
StarWars.com has posted a new article regarding inspirations for the look of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Within the story, we get a new, full look at Val wearing the Mudtrooper outfit. Hopefully this will be representative of how that rumored Black Series figure will look when released later this year. Click on through for the full image.
Per our exclusive reveal from April 12, Robot Kingdom has listed a new case assortment of Class B Force Link 2 vehicles which includes the as-of-yet “unofficially” announced AT-DT from Solo: A Star Wars Story. It is packed 2 per case with Han’s Speeder as the carry-forward. What type of pack-in figure do you suspect will be included? Another Mimban Stormtrooper? A mudtrooper? Feel free to speculate in the comments.
Topps has released a new trading card for their countdown to Solo: A Star Wars Story campaign, and I noticed that Beckett crew member, Val, is dressed as a mudtrooper on Mimban. Could this be how we are getting the much clamored for “mudtrooper” in the 6″ Black Series line we posted a couple weeks ago? I would not be surprised.
You may recall our report from a couple weeks ago where are some new 6” Black Series figures were found via a Brickseek. We now know what wave(s) to expect them in thanks to a tip from reader Benjamin I. Wave 19 looks to include Val (Mimban), the Imperial Patrol Trooper and L3-37 and Wave 20 should include Dengar, Lando (Skiff Guard Disguise) and Princess Leia (Hoth). Carry-forwards/repacks for these two cases are unknown at this time, but we will update as soon as we know.
There is one 3.75″ Black Series figure that has been highly requested for re-release since it was so difficult to find when Walmart held its exclusivity. Collectors can breathe a sigh of relief that the Rogue OneScarif Stormtrooper will be getting the “TVC” treatment. Another character joining the collection is rumored to be Leia in Boushh Disguise. It is unknown if it’s an all-new version or repacked (from 2015) but is probably the latter as the line is balancing repacks with all-new sculpts. Expect these along side Yak Face and Klaatu in 2019*.
A little birdy told me that there may be a surprise or two left to be announced before the products for Solo: A Star Wars Story officially go up for preorder/sale tonight at 12am ET. Be sure to check back thisevening for the reveal, unless there is an official press release prior.
