For many collectors, it’s becoming more and more frustrating to find the new figures in The Vintage Collection at retail.
Instead, what we find are an increased dedication to Clone Wars and Legends, and stores even adding promotional space for those lines, like the image above provided by forumite Tsophika.
So, why is it that stores keep getting in more of those figures while ignoring Vintage? Why does TRU seem to have a sale every month promoting those lines, and ignoring Vintage? Why are we having to rely on online retailers now to get the new Vintage figures, but are being forced to purchase carry forward figures in those case assortments?
We invite all of our readers to sound off on your thoughts on these issues and how this is affecting your interest in the hobby in the forums.
You read correctly. According to a recent report by our friends at Rebelscum, wave 5 (the mixed wave) has appeared in Florida, essentially leapfrogging store reports for the Attack of the Clone assortment (wave 4). So, it looks that there are even more figure to hunt for on your daily toy runs. Nice distribution Pawtucket!
Target is always good about marking down old product – but $12.48 for the Vintage 9-pk? That’s what I found this evening at a local St. Louis Target. It was marked $34.98, but scanned at 75% off already. So even if you see these marked for 30% or 50% off, be sure to scan them because you could be in for a nice surprise!
While checking out my local Target this morning I ran into the several new Lego Star Wars sets been reset after the aisle’s decimation during the holidays:
7869 Battle For Geonosis $29.99
7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack $10.99
7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack $10.99
7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter $24.99
7929 The Battle of Naboo $29.99
7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship $49.99
7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle $79.99
So if Lego is your thing and you’ve got a few extra credits burning a hole in your pocket, you can start checking your Target stores this week.
For all you Rebel Pilot fanatics, Toys”R”us is offering these up for pre-order online, with a special Buy 2 Get 1 Free Promotion. That’s a pretty tough price to pass up, but remember this is an online promotion only. Thanks to our forum members for the heads up!
