But in with the new means out with the old at many Targets, and on this week’s Star Wars Action News Marjorie and Arnie play your voicemails on some of the best bargains to be had on Star Wars toys!
Also this week, a discussion of even more Star Wars Valentine’s Day products, Sideshow’s new Premium Format Aayla Secura figure, and Brock reviews the Star Wars novel Darth Plagueis. All on this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast!
One of my local Target store did their reset overnight which yielded new shelf tags for the Movie Heroes and Clone Wars basic figures and most notably the Vintage Collection. The previous DPCI for the TVC line was 087-06-1351 and this particular store charges $10.99 for them (yuck) the new 2012 Vintage DPCI is 087-06-2413 and is priced at $8.99. Save these numbers to do some checking on your own if your store hasn’t reset their aisle or endcaps yet.
You’ve all seen the increases. First $8.99, then $9.99, then $10.99. Now Target in Walnut Creek, CA has their Vintage Collection figures at a soul crushing $11.99 each! Who doesn’t want to pay that for a Qui-Gon repack?
Want to know the price point for the MTT? How about the Target DPCI? Well you’re in luck. As of this writing, Target has a listing for the “Star Wars Droid Carrier” with a price of $129.99 and the DPCI is 087-06-0846.
Looks like Hasbro isn’t the only one who’s products are showing up before the street date. Today I spotted the new LEGO Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor at Target. This set includes 3 new “Hard-to-Find” figures: ROTS Anakin Skywalker (with 2 different faces), Nute Gunray and Obi-Wan Kenobi as well as a Security Battle Droid and R2-D2. You can also recreate the Mustafar Duel! Click the image above for a closer look.
Hasbro’s theoretical street date of Jan. 30 continues to be ignored. We’re receiving reports daily of collectors finding new products at their local Target and Walmart stores. In fact, today I managed to score myself the entire Vintage TPM wave and New Clone Wars assortment at Walmart. Remember, persistence pays off sometimes, but it also costs an arm and a leg too.
After the long holiday weekend, I hit up my usual Target stop this morning and found that they have placed their exclusive Luke’s Tauntaun, Landspeeder and Search for Luke Skywalker sets on clearance for $17.48 each. I also noticed that the Clone Wars Republic Attack Shuttle was down to $55.48. Your store’s clearance items may differ, but if you are looking for some post-holiday deals, start checking your stores ASAP as they won’t last long.
Yakreader EopieHerder sends in a shot of his TPM wave find at his local Target in North Carolina. With this news, it seems that this wave has made it from the West to the East Coast. It’ll only be a matter of time before it is at a store near you.
Also, forum member PadawanPapareports that he found some in Southwest Virginia as well.
Forum member TradeFederationSympathy posts in our forum his TPM wave find at his local Target in California. Click the image above to check it out in our forums.
Nice find TFS!
UPDATE: Forum member combatjedi posted an image of his partial TPM wave find in our forums as well.
