Our Thoughts and Prayers

We at Yakface.com would like to offer our thoughts and prayers to those who live or have family and friends on the east coast as they face an unprecedented storm. We hope you all stay safe and get back to some semblance of normalcy as quickly as possible.

Bring on the Barge Fan Site Petition

Bring on the Barge! We have partnered with several other fan sites to solicit support for a 3-3/4″ scale Jabba’s Sail Barge Vehicle/Playset. Hasbro has shown interest in building such a vehicle but we need to let them know WE WANT IT by gathering as many signatures as possible and presenting them to the Star Wars brand team at Toy Fair. Head on over to show your support by signing the petition and we thank all of our colleagues for working together in this collaborative effort.

Update: Disregard the prompt to donate after signing the petition, donation is not required for it to count in the tally.

Yakfinities #46 is here!

The latest Customizing Challenge is here!  As always, the rules are very simple – make  a new figure, and post a picture of it in our forums!  But you do need to follow the theme of course – and this one is very broad… all you have to do is make a custom of a female character!

Whether it be an alternate look for Princess Leia, a half-eaten Oola, or something completely fan-fiction, it’s up to you!  Entries will be accepted through 11:59 PM CST, December 31st.

We’ve already gotten some nice entries – check them out, or add your own by clicking here!

Fan Sites Unite at Celebration VI in the Star Wars Collectors Social Area

When Star Wars collectors want to find out about the latest and greatest toys, statues, and prop replicas hitting retail, the primary sources of news and reviews are not corporate owned web sites, but sites run by Star Wars fans for Star Wars fans.

While one might expect competition among the various sites, each trying to scoop the other, the truth is the owners and reporters from many sites are friends who see each other annually at conventions, Toy Fair International, and of course Star Wars Celebrations.

Now at Star Wars Celebration VI, six of these fan-created web sites have joined together to bring an exciting new collectible available in the Star Wars Collecting Track Social Area!

SWTOR Customizing Tribute Roundup Report

As many of our readers sadly remember, the Star Wars fan community lost one of its most spirited customizers last July, Mike Martinez, known around the forums as Mercuryartstudios.

In his honor, three fan sites came together to realize a customizing contest that he had been working on, and the participation was amazing.  We would like to thank the customizing community for such a strong showing in this multi-site customizing tribute to our friend that we miss so much.  The theme was anything related to SWTOR, and entries could be fan fiction, etc. but did need to include three figures.  It was basically a “loose interpretation” of an Evolutions theme from SWTOR.

The event has now come to a close, and we have a Roundup Report showing off all 60 customs made for this, as well, as some random winners, and a grand prize winner who is walking away with a very cool Star Wars collectible.

Check out the Roundup Report, and enjoy all the cool customs by clicking on the image above!
