Another round of price increases are hitting online retailers as the cost of materials and skyrocketing shipping/transportation costs from China affect the market. For example the Black Series line recently increased about $1.50 per standard (non-exclusive) figure, and now another increase of $2.00 is planned pushing MSRPs to near $25. Exclusives will approach $30 and Deluxe figures around $40. Obviously, these increases won’t be limited to Black Series, Star Wars or even Hasbro.
Today, Hasbro revealed via Instagram the packaging for both the TVC Rogue One Antoc Merrick X-wing Fighter as well as the carded pack-in Antoc Merrick figure. Look for this to be available exclusively at Target (US) later this year.
For TVC collectors eagerly awaiting the Ahsoka wave, Hasbro’s distribution center is receiving large shipments of retail case assortments as well as solid cases of each figure.
As a follow up to our report earlier this week, I was able to find the code names for the two new Carbonized Vintage Collection figures as well as locate a third with each having geometric angle codes: “Acute”, “Right” and “Obtuse”. Also of interest, these are shipping to distribution centers NOW.
Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that The Bad Batch will be back for season 2 sometime in 2022 on Disney+. For the full announcement, visit StarWars.com
It looks like we can expect another 6″ Black Series Build Up Pack from The Mandalorian along the lines of last year’s Din Djarin and The Child set which was exclusive to Target. No word on exclusivity for this set but it’s tentively scheduled for October 2021 in some markets outside of the U.S. We will post an update when we learn more.
Sponsor Entertainment Earth is now taking preorders for the Kotobukiya ARTFX Captain Rex 1:7 Scale Statue. Leaping right from the screen of the final season of The Clone Wars, the Captain Rex statue combines with the Ahsoka Tano 1:7 Scale Statue (sold separately) to recreate their harrowing escape from Order 66!
We also received word of (at least) 2 more Carbonized Vintage Collection figures coming soon: The Armorer and “Villain” – – no indication who the “Villain” may be but if they can carbonize Cara Dune then releasing Moff Gideon is not out of the question.
Over the weekend, I received information for at least two new 6″ Black Series Credit Collection figures – Moff Gideon and The Armorer – coming at some point this year. As you recall, these figures are simple repaints of existing figures made to emulate their concept art shown at the end of each episode of The Mandalorian and released on Vintage-style cardbacks. No word yet as to which retailer(s) they’ll be offered.
Note: the art above may or may not be used as the basis of the figure’s deco and card art.
