Some hunting with the Walmart app this morning has yielded two listings for the Retro Collection products for The Empire Strikes Back.A couple weeks ago, we also reported that we’d be seeing another game for the line, similar to the Escape Death Star with Grand Moff Tarkin, this one being the Hoth Ice Planet game. The other listing is for the next assortment of 6 figures.
Last month, packaging illustrations for several unannounced Black Series figures accidentally popped up online and have slowly been officially announced (Jedi Knight Revan and the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian for example). Yesterday, I managed to find a listing for a new 6″ Black Series Deluxe figure and all signs point to it being another one of those leaked characters: The Imperial Probe Droid. While many of us have been hoping that Zeb Orrelios would be the next deluxe figure, the timing is right for the Probe Droid as it will be released for the 40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.
Disney Parks Blog has updated today announcing the launch of new merchandise to tie into the Rise of The Resistance update to Galaxy’s Edge. Merchandise includes clothing, drink ware, pins and a cool new vehicle with astromech (shown above) inspired by the ride.
Update: There are 4 sets to choose from, each with their own unique First Order R5 astromech. Price is set at $75 each. Images of each can be found in the comments or in the Rebelscum Forums.
Disney/Lucasfilm issue a press release this afternoon officially announcing several products featuring “The Child” from The Mandalorian. Not surprising, nothing was shown for Hasbro’s The Black Series or Vintage Collection but they did mention both lines by name stating that products will indeed be coming “later next year”.
Note: if you have any spare Marvel Legends Iron Man hand reactor pulse blasts* laying about, they fit perfectly in the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian’s jet pack. (They also fit in his flamethrower barrel on his gauntlet but fix more loosely.) It’s a shame the figure didn’t come with them in the first place, but here is the next best thing if you are a multi-line collector like myself.
This Saturday, December 7, Target will be hosting a special Star Wars product demo from 10am-1pm for Hasbro’s Scream Saber and Ultimate D-0. There will also be Funko buttons, Star Wars themed cookies, and for parents, a survey that once completed will result in the issuing of a $5 Target gift card. Kids will also be able to participate in opening the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar and take home the mini build inside.
Armed with the UPC for the recently revealed/leaked “The Child” plush from The Mandalorian, I found the related DPCI and TCIN info for it via Target’s handy aisle price scanner. I was also able to learn that this has a date of March 1 listed in Target’s system. UPC, DPCI, TCIN and Walmart SKUs have all been added to our 2019/2020 Master List (listed in the Mattel section).
