Episode 383: A Wave-Full of Yakface

Star-Wars-Action-News-Enhanced-Podcast-Feed2-300x225

With a dearth of new Star Wars figures in stores, Marjorie and Arnie run down the latest Star Wars online offerings, share news of bargain-priced Star Wars toys, and review some new Easter-themed Star Wars items!

For fans of Star Wars 3.75-inch figures the news is bad.  No new figures will be shipping for months, rumors of Target removing all Star Wars items from their toy aisles abound, and the last wave of Clone Wars figures can only be found in Germany and Canada.  On this episode of Star Wars Action News, your hosts Marjorie and Arnie run down the state of collecting, and discuss how far they are willing to go in search of these new figures.

But not all is bleak; new Star Wars novelty items are appearing in the holiday aisles of Toys R Us and Target.  From pastel Vader heads to bunny-eared Stormtroopers, the hosts review the new product hitting shelves.

With a discussion of the newest item in Sideshow’s Star Wars Mythos line of statues, bargain-priced Hasbro toys, and more, it’s all in this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast!

More TJ Maxx Finds

Capture_02.28.13

Before Hasbro’s failed appoach with Movie Heroes, there was a time that the Big H consistently put forth quality figures in the Legends lineup – which appealed to both collectors and kids (did you forget that crossover appeal is important, Hasbro?).

And while Hasbro’s supply exceeded market demand with the Legends line, these figures were in much higher demand than the subpar Movie Heroes line… as there are still many desireable figures from the old Legends assortments – some of which are still showing up at TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores – priced at $4.99 each.

Your mileage may vary, but these sure do beat the uninspired Movie Heroes lineup from 2012 (at least in my book).
