Recently our friends at Jedidefender.com brought to our attention that it looks like Hasbro is planning on consumers paying more for their 2012 Star Wars line, and now Toyrus.com is listing the new 2012 Deluxe line for the staggering price of $19.99 – even more staggering when one considers the first wave is nothing but repacks and repaints.
How will even more price increases (especially on items that have been in circulation over and over throughout the years) affect the success of the line? It seems each year more collectors throw in the towel – hopefully we’ll see some pleasant surprises at Toy Fair this February to make us all feel better about it.
NOTE – Forum member combatjedi found these at Wal-Mart already for $16.97, so hopefully that’s a positive sign.
Following a report by JediTempleArchives.com regarding leftovers of the 2010-2011 pegwarmers from The Vintage Collection being marked down on clearance at Wal-Mart, I came across markdowns as well here in St. Louis.
Markdowns may vary by store (or at all) but it might be worth your while to still keep your eyes peeled for some good deals before the official release date of January 30.
Recently, Yakface forum member Eopie Herder came through with some great pics of the 2012 Darth Maul from The Vintage Collection, and now he has posted some excellent images of this Sith Lord from the 2012 Movie Heroes lineup!
This figure is similar to a past version of Darth Maul, but appears to have some new tooling – check out his comparison images after the jump!
We’ve intercepted a transmission from a droid inside of Lucas Licensing that claims that Yoda is rumored to be the theme of Star Wars merchandise in 2013 after Darth Maul finishes his run in 2012. Click on through to see a mockup of what might be on the packaging in 2013.

On a side note, how crazy is it that these are already hitting at Target, while online stores don’t even have them listed yet?
Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives and GalacticHunter are reporting that some new exclusives that have had very little Hasbro publicity have shown up at Wal-Mart – check out their report by clicking on the above image!
The 4th wave in The Vintage Collection never seemed to reach full distribution, but some cases now appears to be making their way through the pipeline finally. Our friends at Jeditemplearchives are reporting sightings of this wave at Wal-Mart, and I saw the same thing today at a St. Louis area Wal-Mart.
So if you’re in the hunt for any of these figures still (and some are really good), keep your eyes open for this wave.

Target stores are starting to clear out their old exclusive Clone Wars Battle Packs, hopefully to make room for their upcoming Fall exclusives.
As always your mileage may vary, but if you’re in the market for marked down figures, you might want to check those clearance endcaps next time you’re in a Target store!
