Episode 494: Star Wars Turns 40

Forty years ago today blockbuster movies jumped to hyperspace. Science fiction was forever changed, as were the lives of millions of moviegoers. Over the four decades since Star Wars’ popularity has only grown, as have the collections of fans.
On this Star Wars Action News Marjorie and Arnie discuss the few 40th Anniversary exclusives released. And then they are joined by Justin, Brock, and Andrew to reminisce on some of their early Star Wars collecting memories.

$20 40th Anniversary Legacy Pack Found at Walmart

Ultimate deal finder Scott from Tulsa reports finding the 40th Anniversary Darth Vader with Display “Legacy Pack” on sale for $19.87 at his Walmart. And for those that require additional proof, here is a link to the receipt.

40AC Wave 2 Hitting GameStop

Found mine wave 2 at Gamestop today. I got off work early and headed to TRU, nada. Target same thing. The Gamestop is in the same shopping center as Target and decided to go over there. The was a UPS truck in front of the store and when I walked in the manager of the store who I know said they were expecting wave 2 of the 40th Anniversary figures. Sure enough the UPS guy came in and what was on the cart? A box of wave 2 40th figures. The manager opened the box and I got the Jawa, DS Commander, Sand People and Stormtrooper. I called a buddy of mine and he got the rest of them. You may want to check Gamestop if you are having trouble find them.

Star Wars Girl Power

Reports are coming in that some retailers, such as Target are receiving solid cases of the 6″ 40th Anniversary Princess Leia figure, such as the image above provided by forum member dubsack.  This also appears to be happening at some Toys”R”us stores.

Now, we’re not opposed to this great figure of our favorite princess being in good supply, but solid cases of anything in this scale at mass retail seems like it could cause problems, unless we’re talking Stormtroopers or Royal Guards (even that would be risky).
