Our friends at Jeditemplearchives recently reported that Wal-Mart stores are starting to clear out their stock of SAGA Legends figures, dropping them down to $3.00 each. I’m seeing the same thing in my neck of the woods. As always, your mileage may vary.
Personal Note: This price drop is puzzling, unless Wal-Mart just feels this line is not worth their time. I can only hope that a signal is being sent to Hasbro that investing in their line with quality, variety and more intelligent case assortments is better in the long run for the health of their brands.
Wired has posted a very cool infographic on how LEGO has completely turned around since they started licensing sets – a decision which has lead them to become the most profitable toymaker in the world.
It’s another week, which means we have another stunning Concept Series update by localgotal! This one is sure to be dear to the hearts of all of us that grew up with the Original Trilogy, and even moreso for those that never were able to add the elusive POTF vintage figure of this character to their collections back in the day.
What could it be? And how much longer do we have to wait to actually get a modern update for this character from Hasbro? Head to the forums and check this great concept out!
While I am passing on most of the 5POA figures due to their lack of appeal to me, I can’t help but look at the terrible paint applications many of these figures have (when you can actually find them, that is). Example being the Mission Series Obi Wan Kenobi… I’ve seen 8 samples in person so far, and of those, maybe 1 had a decent paint job on the face.
We see terrible paint apps on a lot of the Black Series figures too – such as the Stormtrooper, which looks hideous. Does Hasbro even care anymore? Will this start getting better with Rebels? Share your thoughts in the forums.
The current Yakfinities Customizing Challenge rolls on – Space Pirates! So far we’ve had many great entries and hope to see plenty more!
Entering a custom is easy – all you need to do is make a new custom of a Space Pirate of your choice, and share pics in our forums before the end of March.
Our friend James Burns from JediNews has posted his recap of last week’s UK Toy Fair in London over at StarWars.com. While the official Hasbro news is shrouded in secrecy for the most part there is plenty of other info to take in. Check it out after the jump.
Once again, localgotal hits a home run with another amazing mockup in his popular Concept Series lineup.
This week we’re treated to yet another multi-pack, which entails several Mos Eisley characters that we just know would be a hit if released the way he has envisioned. We could only be so lucky with what Hasbro reveals at Toy Fair!
Check the latest update out, and make your voice heard if you support such ideas by sounding off in the forums!
Barracuda Labs has posted an article stating that Hasbro’s website (link not included for obvious reasons), is responsible for spreading malware to visitor’s computers. It is recommended to avoid the site until the issue is addressed.
The official site has updated with yesterday’s video reveal of Chopper (C1-10P) from Star Wars Rebels, and as a bonus, we get our first look at the second official figure from the Rebel line. Click the image above for a closer look.
