New Product Continues to Trickle Out
Hasbro’s theoretical street date of Jan. 30 continues to be ignored. We’re receiving reports daily of collectors finding new products at their local Target and Walmart stores. In fact, today I managed to score myself the entire Vintage TPM wave and New Clone Wars assortment at Walmart. Remember, persistence pays off sometimes, but it also costs an arm and a leg too.
TVC TPM Wave Packaging Variants
It seems that this wave, though barely unofficially out (let alone officially), already has variant packaging. Cases of the The Phantom Menace wave have hit Walmart without the Darth Maul Giveaway/Promo sticker nor do they include the mailaway entry forms packed in the bubble. You can check out a shot of this in our forums courtesy of member Jedighost009.
TVC Deleted Scene Images at Sandtroopers
It’s a month before Toy Fair so what better time to spoil some of Hasbro’s fun with a first look at carded shots of the Blu-Ray Deleted Scene wave of Vintage Collection figures. Head on over to Sandtroopers.com for images of Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction), Princess Leia (Sandstorm Outfit), Lando Calrissian (Sandstorm Outfit), Colonial Cracken (Millennium Falcon Crew), Rebel Pilot (Mon Calamari) and more!
Toyguide Update: VC63 B-Wing Pilot (Keyan Farlander)
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the B-Wing Pilot (Keyan Farlander) (VC63) from The Vintage Collection.
PROS: A solid sculpt from the TLC Evolution set makes for a great release on the Vintage card. The perfect accompaniment to the Kmart exclusive B-Wing Fighter.
CONS: The relatively unexciting nature of the figure, coupled with it shipping on two different cardbacks pretty much guaranteed this figure “pegwarmer” status. Keyan Farlander again? Really?

2012 Vintage Wave One – IN STOCK!
Who knows how long this will last, but the first Vintage wave of 2012 is listed as “in-stock” over at Toysrus.com!
NEW 2012 Battle Packs Found
Street date? What street date? Forum member AaylaSecurasMan found the new 2012 assortment of battle packs today at his local Walmart. This set includes the Republic Troopers, Geonosis Arena and Rebel Heroes Battle Pack. Head into our forums for a closer look.
Toyguide Update: VC62 Han Solo (In Trench Coat)
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Han Solo (In Trench Coat) (VC62) from The Vintage Collection.
PROS: Great articulation, paint and the new coat fits well and looks good. Overall a nice improvement of the 2006 version.
CONS: Kind of seems like a wasted slot in the Vintage Collection considering he’s been released on a Vintage card before.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

2012 Deluxe Figures – $19.99?
Recently our friends at Jedidefender.com brought to our attention that it looks like Hasbro is planning on consumers paying more for their 2012 Star Wars line, and now Toyrus.com is listing the new 2012 Deluxe line for the staggering price of $19.99 – even more staggering when one considers the first wave is nothing but repacks and repaints.
How will even more price increases (especially on items that have been in circulation over and over throughout the years) affect the success of the line? It seems each year more collectors throw in the towel – hopefully we’ll see some pleasant surprises at Toy Fair this February to make us all feel better about it.
NOTE – Forum member combatjedi found these at Wal-Mart already for $16.97, so hopefully that’s a positive sign.
