VC31 Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave.

PROS: Hasbro took the awesome 2009/2010 Legacy Collection sculpt and improved the deco, gave him a Jedi robe and corrected the paint deco to the lightsaber hilt.

CONS: Still, no extra lightsaber hilt to attach to his belt.

VC30 Zam Wesell

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Zam Wesell from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave.

PROS: An excellent revision to the previous figure sculpts. Loaded with articulation and ornate details in the costume, Interchangeable head is a nice touch.

CONS: The Clawdite head sculpt doesn’t look much like the on-screen version – the 2002 figure seemed to capture the likeness better. Haircolor is wrong for the human head- not a deal breaker though as we don’t see her without her helmet in the film. Not having a detachable arm is a step backwards.

New Saga Legends Asst. Revealed

Yakface Sponsor BigBadToyStore has updated with new preorders today and it looks like we’ll be getting a refresh in the Saga Legends line. Look for these figures to start showing up in March:

SL24 Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode III)
SL25 Stormtrooper
SL27 Death Star Trooper
SL28 Super Battle Droid (Episode III)
SL29 Mace Windu (Episode III)
SL30 Boba Fett (Episode VI)
SL31 Destroyer Droid
SL32 Spacetrooper

Looks like some great army building potential!

UPDATE: Our sponsor EntertainmentEarth has also listed this assortment with an photo show off which sculpts will be used (in theory).

VC29 Kit Fisto

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Kit Fisto from the Vintage Collection.

PROS: Master Fisto receives an upgrade in the form of a new sculpt with enhanced articulation as he now features ball-jointed hips. Includes lit and unlit lightsaber accessories. Probably the last Kit Fisto you’ll ever need – at least until they make another one.

CONS: Looks more like the ROTS on-screen appearance than his AOTC likeness. An alternate “force-push” hand (from the 2009 Geonosis Arena Set) would have been a cool bonus. Sadly, he is missing his signature smile. : (

VC43 Commander Gree

The Yakface Toyguide updates continue today with the addition of Commander Gree from the Vintage Collection.

PROS: A reissue of a figure sculpt that was ahead of its time in 2008. Looks gorgeous on a Vintage-style card.

CONS: None

VC41 Stormtrooper

The Yakface Toyguide updates continue today with the addition of the Stormtrooper from the Vintage Collection.

PROS: The basic stormtrooper receives upgraded articulation (ball-jointed hips) borrowed from the recent VC14 Sandtrooper Includes a bonus DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle for extra crowd suppression.

CONS: The oversized (and inaccurate) helmet is way too loose when fit over the head. Error on the card back depicting the “original” release as being from “The Empire Strikes Back“. We all know it was on a 12-back “Star Wars” card in 1978.

VC38 Clone Trooper (212th Battalion)

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Clone Trooper (212th Battalion) from the Vintage Collection.

PROS: Utilizes the enhanced articulation body we received most recently with the VC15 Clone Trooper. Hasbro finally gave us the Evolution molds for both weapons here – which are awesome in my book. Corrected belt orientation looks to have carried over from the VC15 Clone Trooper as well.

CONS: The helmet displays signs of discoloration (yellowing). Paint masks seem a bit off for the black details on helmet as well (at least on this sample). Lacks the weathering effect that worked on the TSC version. Orange (212th Battalion) color flashes do not match the most recent release of Commander Cody.
