Lucasfilm via StarWars.com officially announced today that Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same stories told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. Disney Publishing Worldwide & Lucasfilm announced today four new books to introduce readers to the classic Star Wars saga.
“Lucasfilm announced today, via Publishers Weekly, four brand new books aimed at introducing new readers to the classic Star Wars saga by bridging the ‘multi-arc storyline in anticipation of the release of Star Wars Episode VII in December 2015.'”

The Official Site has posted that principal photography for Episode VII will commence this May. They also confirm that the story will continue 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and feature three new young leading actors as well as a some familiar faces.
