More TJ Maxx Finds

Capture_02.28.13

Before Hasbro’s failed appoach with Movie Heroes, there was a time that the Big H consistently put forth quality figures in the Legends lineup – which appealed to both collectors and kids (did you forget that crossover appeal is important, Hasbro?).

And while Hasbro’s supply exceeded market demand with the Legends line, these figures were in much higher demand than the subpar Movie Heroes line… as there are still many desireable figures from the old Legends assortments – some of which are still showing up at TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores – priced at $4.99 each.

Your mileage may vary, but these sure do beat the uninspired Movie Heroes lineup from 2012 (at least in my book).

Walmart Black Friday 8-Pack Details

We’ve received some additional details (see our original report here) surrounding next week’s Walmart Exclusive 8-pks available for Black Friday starting on Thursday night. Thanks to a Walmart employee we’ve received a few images showing that there are several (as many as 8) different assortments covering figures from the 2010 Saga Legends, 2010 Clone Wars and 2012 Clone Wars lines. Click on through to check them out.

Thanks to JD for the report.

Walmart Black Friday 8-Pack

Walmart’s Black Friday Ad has dropped and it looks like they are going to have an exclusive 8-pack of Saga Legends* figures for $25.00. This promo is available in-store only and after 8pm on Thanksgiving Day.

*As of yet there is no word if the 8 figures are this same in each set or just a cobbled together assortment of overstock. But it’s a sure bet there is nothing worth getting here unless you are looking for troop builders.

Buy 1 Get 1 Free at Toys”R”us

While swinging by my local Toys”R”us store today to grab a few more figures from The Hobbit, I noticed that all Star Wars figures are Buy 1 Get 1 Free – while the selection consisted mostly of repacks, it’s still a very noteworthy sale!

It’s unknown if this is a national sale, but from what I recall, the stickers said the sale runs at least until sometime in November!  I will correct that if I am wrong, but that’s what my fading memory tells me… unfortunately, my cell phone pic didn’t capture the image clear enough to clarify.

Suggestions for Hasbro!

Remember when the Legends lines were fun and Hasbro found a way to appeal to both collectors and kids?  When we actually looked forward to walking into the toy aisle?

Collector frustration continues to rise, so we’re going to start throwing some new ideas toward Hasbro in the forums, and we’re starting things off with a bit of a rant with how they’ve handled Movie Heroes so far this year and how it could have been handled better.
