New Saga Legends Figures Revealed

NewSagaLegends2015

Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives have received new images for figures in Saga Legends/Rebels assortment. New figures include: SL25 Commander Bly, SL26 Han Solo (Endor), SL27 Luke Skywalker (Endor) and SL28 Princess Leia (Endor). One more figure not shown or mentioned though is SL21 – a repack of Mace Windu.

Our Saga Legends/Rebels toyguide has been updated to reflect these details.

Target Resets Saga Legends/Rebels Shelf Tags Return

target2015reset

My local Target completed their Star Wars aisle reset this morning and I noticed the return of the Saga Legends/Rebels shelf tags, which had been missing from many stores over the holidays. It looks like the new planogram calls for 6 pegs of 6″ Black Series, 6 pegs of 3-3/4″ Black Series, 3 pegs of Mission Series and 3 pegs of Saga Legends. While most of the pegs are currently empty, waiting for product to be replenished and the port issue in Long Beach to be resolved, hopefully we’ll see these aisles return to a more inviting status soon.

Toys”R”us Raising Price on Legends/Rebels

pricing

Even though most stores can’t seem to get the new single carded Rebels figures in stock, Toys”R”us is raising prices for the 5POA figure line.  Head on over to the forums to see how much you can expect to pay for these there moving forward.

Personal Note:  If they could just get the figures in stock, they’d have no problem moving figures like Chopper, Inquisitor, Kallus for a little more… there’s no doubt that the 5POA Rebels figures are an upgrade over the other Legends stuff from the past year or so…  it’s just a shame that this stuff didn’t hit like it should have in time for Christmas gifts…!

Toyguide Update: Snowtrooper (SL12)

SL12_snowtrooper_preview

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume with the next entry in the Star Wars Rebels/Saga Legends 3-3/4″ line. Next, we take a look at the Snowtrooper (SL12).

PROS: Behind the Stormtrooper and Luke Skywalker figures, the Snowtrooper is one of the best Original Trilogy figures in the Saga Legends line up. The sculpt is the most detailed of the assortment with intricate folds and textures on the suit, waist coat and boots and the inclusion of the removable backpack is a nice touch as well. Despite the limited articulation, this figure is fantastic and thankfully Hasbro deemed it worthy for re-release.

CONS: Without a neck joint of any kind, this figure is limited more than most Saga Legends figures leaving you with the most rigid of posing options.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

Toyguide Update: Obi-Wan Kenobi (SL11)

SL11_OWK_preview

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume with the next entry in the Star Wars Rebels/Saga Legends 3-3/4″ line. Next, we take a look at Obi-Wan Kenobi (SL11).

PROS: Again, this was one of the figures I missed in early 2014 due to the last wave of the previous line look not being released in the US. Here Hasbro offers another Obi-Wan, this time in his armor as seen from the early seasons of The Clone Wars. A solid looking figure overall with a crisp sculpt. Again, I’m glad Hasbro found a way to get this back out to collectors, but I think it’s high time we received an old Ben Kenobi in the 5POA line to round out the A New Hope character line up.

CONS: Where this figure falls short is the paint. This sample suffers from paint apps that are very sloppily applied, especially the legs. My guess is that this is the last “new” Obi-Wan figure, in this particular outfit, that we’ll ever receive and that’s a bit sad.

Toyguide Update: Luke Skywalker (SL10)

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume with the next entry in the Star Wars Rebels/Saga Legends 3-3/4″ line. Next, we take a look at Luke Skywalker (SL10).

PROS: This was one of the figures I missed in early 2014 (due to “last wave syndrome” of the previous line look in the US). Thankfully, Hasbro recognized the problem and reissued it for the first wave of Rebels/Saga Legends assortment. The figure itself is quite possibly the best 5 POA Luke figure ever done in terms of capturing the classic Kenner aesthetic while using modern sculpting techniques. Like most offerings in the Saga Legends line, there are some issues with paint apps but this figure (at least my sample) seems to have faired pretty well. They really seemed to have nailed the specific “Jedi” details of his outfit as well – namely the chest flap and the cool little pouch on his belt.

CONS: As we mentioned, the paint apps for this figure can vary from figure to figure so finding one with decent eye/eye brow deco may be the hardest part about collecting the figure. Otherwise there really isn’t much to complain about unless you just don’t like “cheaper” toys aimed a younger generation.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
