Off topic a bit here, but if you have a Five Below store in your area, you may want to swing by and see if they are stocking GI JOE figures – the ones in my area just started putting GI JOE Retaliation figures out this week, for the awesome price of $5.00 each.
A lot of the later figures from the “movie line” are really great figures, but sadly were not distributed well (a trend we see with Hasbro these days).
Toys”R”us locations are marking down quite a few older Star Wars items right now, which includes a variety of items that you’ve probably seen at your store for quite some time. But at 40% off, you may find something worth caving in on. As always your mileage and finds will vary — but if you’ve got a Toys”R”us store in your area, it may be worth your while to swing by and see if you can walk away with a score or two.
Reports continue to come in (though sporadic) of collectors spotting Wave 3 of the Black Series in greater numbers, across various retailers.
We know that Hasbro’s changing their case assortment ratios moving forward, and more of what we see coming appear to be more “in demand” figures and characters than what we’re used to seeing.
Perhaps we are in for a healthier distribution flow in 2014? Agreed? Or do you see this as just a big tease? Share your thoughts after the jump!
Jedi Temple Archives has posted word that the newest wave of The Black Series 6″ figures have been found at Toys”R”Us. This assortment includes Obi-Wan Kenobi, Bespin Luke and the Stormtrooper. The hunt is on!
While many of us are losing more and more passion for the hobby due to Hasbro’s distribution problems, there is a glimmer of hope when you see a report like this, where forum member Jedighost009 just scored the latest wave of Black Series figures at Kmart. Reports are also coming in more of these figures making appearances at Target the past week, so don’t give up and keep sharing those finds in the forums.
Personal Note: Can you imagine if Hasbro had a better plan in place and had launched the first wave with what’s packed in Wave 3? Geeze… it’s hard to not accuse of them being completely responsible for their own problems sometimes.
By now you’ve probably heard reports of Marshalls and TJ Maxx stores marking down the MTT to ridiculously low prices – if you’ve been waiting for your local store to mark one down, better head out quick… the Marshalls in my area had four of these marked at $59.00 as recently as Monday, then last night I swung by and they only had one left, for $39.00. So don’t delay, be on your way!
Reminder: Your mileage may vary. Just because many stores have marked these down doesn’t mean your local store has yet.
While you may have a better chance at winning the lottery than finding new Hasbro figures these days, it’s refreshing to know that LEGO Star Wars products continue to arrive at retail at a good pace – and this week, the 2014 sets have started to show up at various retailers. So head on out and see what you can score!
Any store reports of Black Series figures past Wave 1 are far and few between, but when you can score new figures (especially on sale), it’s pretty shocking these days. With the Toys”R”us 30% off sale running this week, and some stores even receiving the latest round of figures, it may be worth your time in stopping by to see if you can walk out with a nice score.
If you have a Marshalls or TJ Maxx store in your area, it may be worth your time to swing by and see if you can score any toys marked down. Many stores that have leftover 2013 stock are really slashing prices to make room for their 2014 toy sections. As always, your mileage and success may vary.
