Hasbro kicked off a great Black Series launch at Walmart in Tepeyac, Mexico recently complete with 3-3/4″ and 6″ figures from the new black and blue line look. The festivities also included a very cool Limited Edition (1500) Prototype Boba Fett Lithograph*.
For collectors in Mexico, it looks like the Walgreens Exclusive 6″ Black Series Prototype Boba Fett will be getting released as a Walmart Exclusive as seen in their holiday promotions.
As we reported earlier this week, Walmart will be getting an exclusive 4 pack of Black Series 6″ figures soon, Walmart.com.mx now has this listed on their site for $889.00 pesos (about $65 US).
Walmart is starting to prep for the arrival of Star Wars Rebels product with new signage in their toy aisle. Hopefully, actual Rebels action figures will arrive soon to fill it out.
Can’t wait to watch Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion tonight or you don’t get the Disney Channel(s)? Fear not as Walmart is selling it (DVD only, there is no Blu-ray release) in stores now for $12.96. The DVD includes the 4 mini character vignettes as well as a paper craft version of our hero’s ship The Ghost.
Stephen Stanton (The Clone Wars) tweeted an image last night showing some signage at Walmart and you’ll notice that the release date for Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion is listed for October 3 – the same day the special airs on the Disney Channel. This contradicts the October 14 release date stated back in August. Signage could be wrong, or Walmart has an exclusive distribution deal with Disney/Lucasfilm.
Fellow The Force United partner YodasNews has posted and gallery of images covering the new 20″ line of Jakks Pacific action figures. Head on over to check out Boba Fett (Walmart Exclusive), Han and Luke in Stormtrooper Disguise (Toys”R”Us exclusive) and the Inquisitor. You can also catch a glimpse of the Walgreens Exclusive Darth Maul and Farmboy Luke.
Our friends at JediDefender are reporting the finding of wave 3 of the Saga Legends figures at Walmart in Canada. As a reminder, this wave includes 5 POA versions of Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight), Snowtrooper, Darth Maul (Episode I) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Clone Wars Armor)
Our friends at Jeditemplearchives recently reported that Wal-Mart stores are starting to clear out their stock of SAGA Legends figures, dropping them down to $3.00 each. I’m seeing the same thing in my neck of the woods. As always, your mileage may vary.
Personal Note: This price drop is puzzling, unless Wal-Mart just feels this line is not worth their time. I can only hope that a signal is being sent to Hasbro that investing in their line with quality, variety and more intelligent case assortments is better in the long run for the health of their brands.
