It had been a while since we had interviewed one of our active forum members like this – so while Hasbro seems to be dithering with the hobby, it made sense to interview a customizer who keeps the 3.75″ dream alive – Peakob1.

Flyguy and Yakface are back to break down the week’s collecting news and more. This week, product is coming in at record pace with wave after wave of Saga Legends, Mission Series and 6″ Black Series products hit retail. Plus, there are even great sales to be had as well. There are a few very cool customs to discuss this week, the main one grabbing headlines around the world is the drone speeder bike which is too cool not to hit production. Finally, big news broke from Disney involving the first of the standalone films as well as the official release date for Episode VIII. There is a lot to wrap our addled brains around but you can watch/hear it all on Episode 55 of The Realm Recap!

Yakface forum members continue to up their game as customizers – and our latest spotlight showcases some familiar names and a relative newcomer to the customizing scene.
First up, my kind of scum continues his recent customizing blitz with a great set of Tonnika sisters, which you can see a full shot of here, along with a plethora of other great recent updates.
Next, forumite CommanderJoe276 shows off his very first customs, which are some excellent 501st style Clone Wars troopers.
Finally, we get some more OT goodness from Evilivo, who has created an upgraded version of Max Rebo’s organ, a revamped version of Salicious Crumb, and more.

One of the best things about customizing is recognizing the many different techniques and approaches to creating custom figures. Case in point, recently we’ve seen two very different approaches to creating a Trandoshan – head to the forums for a closer look.
Also, our current Yakfinities Customizing Challenge continues through the end of March – and the theme is Bounty Hunters – so if you’re a customizer, what are you waiting for? Tonight we take a look at one of the coolest customizing projects ever posted in our forums – The Box Project – by forum member Peakob1. This Clone Wars themed project entails customs of 12 of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. Check it out after the jump!
Personal Note: It’s a shame that Hasbro let the Clone Wars line die with such a whimper, starting in 2012 they had pretty much abandoned the line and their last efforts included completely unnecessary resculpts of characters like Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. This project just goes to show how much potential that line had.

Hasbro’s take on Chopper from Star Wars Rebels is a fun little droid, but unfortunately it falls short a bit in the articulation department. While it’s a figure that my son loves, I wanted something a little different that fit in better with my collection, so I took some creative liberties and made my own version for display with my stuff. This one took a little more effort than recent customs of the AT-DP Driver and Agent Kallus – check it out and share your thoughts after the jump!
