We are a day short of a week into the Haslab TVC LAAT/I Gunship campaign and we’re currently over 30% funded and climbing. While not a meteoric rise out of the gate, it is heading in the right direction. Visit HasbroPulse.com to secure your TVC LAAT/i Republic Gunship and check out additional info/images.
Hasbro is now sending out address confirmation notifications for backers of the Haslab TVC Mos Eisley Cantina for U.S. residents. You have until August 4 make your changes. Not long now!
After my initial gut reaction toward the cost of the Haslab LAAT/i Gunship, I have in fact waffled and backed the campaign. This was not out of pressure, FOMO or being a “corporate shill” for Hasbro. Of figures & vehicles in my collection, the ones I have the most of will either be directly compatible with the gunship or be supplemental to any sort of display that I’d be able to assemble – and that is before any of the new products that are coming for the Battle of Geonosis campaign. The Haslab Cantina, while a fine display in and of itself isn’t super “action oriented” nor serves as a real “toy” in the traditional sense – something the LAAT/i Gunship excels in (it is also cheaper than the deluxe Cantina of which I bought two). If you haven’t taken the time to watch the last video, it helped sell me on the LAAT – it is really a fantastic offering*.
#backtvc is a collector wide campaign, not something we either claim ownership or demand blind support. Adults in the room can make smart decisions and still #backtvc only if makes it financial sense for them. I encourage responsibility in collecting and not let those with an online “influence” pressure you one way or another.
Hasbro has resorted for quite some time to “fluffing up” their images by digitally removing pins from old sculpts that they are reissuing or “refreshing” for new sets. The Mace Windu and the Captain Rex are the latest offenders in this practice. Both upcoming figures use the old, original sculpts that feature exposed double pins in their elbows and knees. Don’t be fooled by the official press photos released.
Some may find this trivial, but others find this to be a clear act of deception aimed at unwitting consumers and collectors. It needs to stop.
