Older Legends Figures Continue to Appear

Capture2

If you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls store in your area, it may be worth your while to swing by and see what they are stocking for the Christmas shopping season.  Many stores are still receiving older Legends figures for $4.99 each (which are fantastic kid and collector friendly figures), mid size vehicles in the Clone Wars line at discount prices, and even the giant MTT for $79.99.

Yakfinities #50 Continues

yak50tantive

The 50th Yakfinities Customizing Challenge continues through December 31, so there’s still several weeks to get those entries in!  This one also will be up for a grand prize, as the Yakface staff will be voting for their favorite entries.

You can submit your entries by clicking here, but remember, in order to be eligible for a prize, your submission(s) should be a new custom made for the contest… and not something you made previously.

Boldly going where no diorama has gone before…

yakwallFor those that supported the indiegogo campaign for Galactic Merchants, it appears your investment is about to pay off as the creators have begun shipping their Space Station walls sets!  Be on the lookout for email  notifications of your order shipping, and until that time, you can check out a full gallery of the sets I received in the mail today.

Personal Note:  Without a doubt, these are the highlight of the year for me in collecting.  In fact, these might be the best thing I’ve been able to acquire in this hobby for the last several years.   With these, we the fans who have supported this hobby for nearly 20 years in the modern era, can finally have adequate displays to show off our figures without having to spend frustrating hours on end making our own sets.  It’s just a shame that the company who makes the figures has ignored such a concept for so long.  The Galactic Merchants team has done the fan community a great service with these sets and they should be applauded for their efforts.

Concept of the Week #4

concept-series2

Another week has passed, and that means we’ve got another new Concept Series update from localgotal!  This week’s feature is inspired by the Dark Horse series, The Star Wars.  It’s a figure that would be easy money for Hasbro, so we can’t help but wonder why they didn’t make this.

Maybe after they see this, they will consider it.  Either way, check out this great new concept figure after the jump!

Curto Burns Collectors Cast – Dec. 2 2013

curtoburnscast

It’s been a long time coming (James’ trip to San Francisco for 10 days as well as his crazy 15-16 hour working days has got in the way in getting this out) but it’s here now…

Recorded in late October/early November Dan Curto and James Burns talk about all the news from New York Comic Con, all the latest products available to buy or pre-order as well as catching up and talking to Steve Sansweet about the upcoming (although it’s already happened) party to celebrate the induction of Rancho Obi-Wan into the 2104 Guinness World Records.  There’s lots more news besides and it’s time to tune in and catch up!

Fear not, we’ll have another show out before Christmas along with a special announcement too!
