Those wacky Angry Birds, created by Rovio Entertainment, have already been cast into space. Now they are joining forces with the cast of a beloved space saga.
In Angry Birds Star Wars, a totally new edition of the game out Nov. 8 for iOS, Android and computers, the birds and pigs alike will take on the personalities of characters from the Star Wars saga. “They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters,” says Paul Southern, vice president of licensing and consumer products marketing for Lucasfilm Ltd. “They are characters in their own right.”
We’ve heard some squawking about this line for about a month now but it looks like word is popping up all over with details of the new Angry Birds line of products from Hasbro and Rovio. Head on over to the Idol Hands blog for a extensive breakdown and look for the official reveal at NYCC next week.

While swinging by my local Toys”R”us store today to grab a few more figures from The Hobbit, I noticed that all Star Wars figures are Buy 1 Get 1 Free – while the selection consisted mostly of repacks, it’s still a very noteworthy sale!
It’s unknown if this is a national sale, but from what I recall, the stickers said the sale runs at least until sometime in November! I will correct that if I am wrong, but that’s what my fading memory tells me… unfortunately, my cell phone pic didn’t capture the image clear enough to clarify.
With collector frustration with Hasbro quite possibly at an all-time high, timing for the company making 3.75″ figures for the highly anticipated The Hobbit films could not be much better.
These new figures by The Bridge Direct are starting to pop up at retail (Toys”R”us for now), and I for one find it very refreshing to find new figures in this scale, apparently aimed at adult collectors, and with a lineup of figures that isn’t flooded with repacks.
Take a look at a few of the figures from this line, and share your thoughts after the jump!
