So Easy a Caveman Can Do It…

headswap

If you’ve been able to get your hands on Hasbro’s latest 3.75″ Han Solo, chances are you are wondering how they could have given this otherwise flawless figure such a poorly sculpted (and painted) head.

There’s a quite simple fix though, as thankfully back in 2006, Hasbro “got it right” with Harrison Ford’s likeness.

This is a simple head swap for everyone, and takes no customizing skills whatsoever – head on over to the forums for a closer look and to share your thoughts!

Black Series Awakening at Target?

Picture1

Over the weekend, forum member Jodo ran into something very few people have seen at a Target store in a long, long time… several new Black Series figures.  Not full cases, of course, since Target seems to reject the notion of giving their customers a full selection of Star Wars figures these days, but it still seems like a positive sign (I ran into some stores that also stocked last week, though it was as usual, just 2-3 figures at a time).

Keep those store reports coming in, and hopefully the last handful of figures from the final waves of pre-Episode 7 Black Series actually make it to the pegs in decent supply before the onslaught of product in September…

More Diorama Greatness Coming…

For those active in our forums, you’re probably already familiar with the awesome custom diorama pieces that forum member Raylen creates, and offers up to fellow collectors.  He specializes in obscure items that some may overlook, but these things are just too cool to not be part of any Star Wars 3.75″ collection.

His latest sneak peek is one many of us have been hoping would be available for our collections for decades now, and that time is finally coming if you’re willing to roll up your sleeves and do a bit of painting!  Head on over to the forums for a closer look!

TRU/SDCC Exclusive Black Series “Rancor Pit” Update

jabba

Rebelscum forum member Holographic_Elvis has posted a new image of the upcoming “Jabba’s Rancor Pit” set in their forums.  Check out the full size image in all its glory here.

He notes that the retail price will be $130, and that it’s marked as a Comic Con product, but we should expect to see them in stores soon.  Is the price just too much for this?  Or are collectors willing to shell out that kind of money for a set of repacks, but with a new Jabba?  Head to our forums to share your thoughts!

Thanks to darthmac for the heads up!

Hasbro Toy Talk by Jodo: Part 4

jodotalk

Forum member Jodo has posted a new bit on his blog about the current state of Hasbro’s Star Wars lineup.  In particular, a focus on what so many of us encounter when we walk into a retail store, planning to spend some money on the brand, but just can’t find anything we want.  And of course, the price hike to $12.99 that many outlets now charge for The Black Series.

Check it out here, and share your thoughts in our comments section or in the forums!

New Black Series Stormtrooper Change

Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives are reporting that the new Black Series Stormtrooper (found at Toys”R”us) features some different parts than the most recent mold, including a new helmet.  Is this a leap forward, or a step back?

Head on over for the thoughts of our friend Paul Harrison, and feel free to discuss in our forums.

Hasbro Toy Shop Price Hike

12.99

After listing some upcoming 3.75″ scale Black Series figures for $9.99 last week, Hasbrotoyshop.com has bumped up the price by three bucks.  Special thanks to forum member darth_sidious for this information.

Personal Note:  As for myself, I was on the fence with Chewbacca and Dutch at $9.99, but a $12.99 price tag turns me into not wanting those particular figures in the least.  And definitely not the Vader.  All of these are basically retreads or are using mostly existing parts, and for that much money, Hasbro needs to do better.  Disagree?  Share your thoughts after the jump!
