Yakfinities #70: DROIDS

A new Yakfinities Customizing Challenge is currently underway, and the theme is DROIDS.

So, roll up your sleeves and cobble together a droid of your own… or better yet, let’s see what kind of painting skills you’ve got too!   Or if that’s not your cup of tea, you can still check out the most recent entries by clicking here.

Personal Note:  The roundup report for Yakfinities #69 is coming soon – with over 150 custom entries, it’s taking longer than usual – apologies for the delay!

Customizer Mega Spotlight

We love the customizing community that shares their work in our forums and it’s time for a long overdue spotlight.

First up,  forum member RookieOne kicks things off with several custom figures from the Rebel Alliance, including quite a few from Rogue One.  Check those out here!

Next, johnmorog shows off a great custom Mud Trooper – while you’re waiting for Hasbro to get around to this figure, check out how he made his (including WIP pics) in his customizing thread.

Last but certainly not least, customizer nighthawk continues to pump out customs in both 3.75″ and 6″ scale, with some real gems that add some much needed articulation to Hasbro’s  5poa line.

New 3.75″ Diorama Stuff

Yakface Forums member and expert diorama prop builder Raylen has just posted another great item for all you customizers out there…  it’s a 3.75″ scale throne that can be used to seat various super articulated figures, such as this guy.

Share your thoughts in his forums thread, and if you’d like to add one of these thrones to your personal collection, simply follow this link!

Custom 6″ Yak Face from Star Wars: A Custom 1:12 Galaxy

A new customizing community has launched via a private Facebook group. Star Wars: A Custom 1:12 Galaxy is a community of like-minded customizers as well as an educational resource for 1:12 Star Wars custom figures and dioramas. Their customizer’s archive is a variable “cookbook” chock-full of figure recipes, diorama blueprints, tutorial guides and a databank of materials that will allow you to search out and find the unique custom cast parts you need to complete any project.

To help promote this endeavor, we are proud to debut their recipe and tutorial for an amazing 6″ Yak Face/Saelt Marae figure. Click on through for the detailed images and info.
