While the vast majority of Star Wars collectors are still on the hunt for new figures, reports are coming in of Wave 3 revision cases shipping, as well as new signs of Vintage waves 3, 4, 5, and 6 coming in from the US, the UK, and Canada. On this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast, Marjorie and Arnie run down what they’ve been finding, and what they’ve been hearing other people found. From Gamorrean Guards to the elusive (former Kohl’s exclusive) Galactic Heroes AT-ST, Clone Wars Wave 11 and more, find out where to look on this week’s show!

Also on the podcast, we have a hands on review of Star Wars Frames, the high-end collectible book set featuring photos hand-picked by George Lucas. Also one listener reports in from the grand opening of the new Star Tours ride at Disneyworld, and Marjorie and Arnie look at some very cool new preorders going up this week from Sideshow–a one-sixth scale Dewback and a Premium Format Stormtrooper!

New Carded Wave 7 Images at JTA

Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives have posted new card back images from wave 7 from The Vintage Collection. Head on over for shots of Bom Vimdin, Barriss Offee, Bespin Han Solo, ARC Trooper Commander, Rebel Fleet Trooper and Logray! These figures were purchased in the Philippines so the what we see released in the US in the next couple weeks might differ slightly.

VC25 R2-D2 Cardback Variant

Proving that they are willing to address their mistakes (from time to time) Hasbro corrected the “First Issue” error on the back of the VC25 R2-D2 card. The 2010 cardback photo has been replaced with a more standard inset photo there are other typographical and design changes as well. Click the image above for a look at the side by side comparison and see if you can spot them all.

Toyguide Update: VC25 R2-D2

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of R2-D2 from the Vintage Collection’s Return of the Jedi wave (Wave 3).

PROS: After 7 years, this is a great second attempt at the “BAR2-D2” figure. The drink tray is far superior to the previous version in terms of sculpt and the ability to remove the individual glasses. Loaded with accessories and features to re-enact other scenes from the Original Trilogy.

CONS: Little pieces can be easy to loose if not careful. Dome rotation is limited when lightsaber or periscope accessories are in use. Smaller scale seems unnecessary at this stage of the hobby.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
