There has been a rumored list floating around for a while, but today I managed to find actual names and links (via the Walmart app) for figures in the Retro Collection for The Empire Strikes Back. Expect an official announcement probably at Toy Fair next month.
Searching via the Walmart app and online has yielded results for that still as of yet unannounced Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot and Hoth Rebel Soldier coming to the 40th Anniversary Collection of 6″ Black Series carded figures to commemorative The Empire Strikes Back. These links join the other 5 figures revealed over the weekend.
The first image of the upcoming 6″ 40th Anniversary Collection for The Empire Strikes Back confirms our 5 of the figures from our rumor list from a couple weeks ago.
Update: A close up image of Luke has been added to the comments section of this article.
I few days ago I reported on a possible new scale of Star Wars figures and vehicles coming from Hasbro this year. Today I can found info for ANOTHER type of Star Wars product coded as PROJECT OLYMPUS which goes in the opposite direction than the first rumor and is listed as being 9.5″ scale. I have no clue as to what this may be so maybe we’ll all find out together at NY Toy Fair next month (if not sooner).
Update: It has been determined that this is another budget line of action figures similar to what Hasbro has done for Marvel. They are essentially smaller Hero Series figures with less articulation. An image has been added in the comments. Thanks to TatooineSandworm for the additional intel.
Additional evidence supporting our original 6″ Deluxe (D3) Imperial Probe Droid rumor as been found after I was scanning through a few codes via the Walmart app. The product page for the as-of-yet unannounced figure is live on Walmart.com and the app but you obviously can’t order it yet. To be clear, THIS IS NOT A WALMART EXCLUSIVE. Our Master List page has been updated with the pertinent info.
Check your local Targets for restocks of the highly sought after (and scalped) exclusive 6″ Black Series Carbonized Mandalorian. My local store (Maple Grove, MN) replenished with 3 cases over night. Helmet nod to a couple collectors I got the chance to speak with this morning as well.
