Industrial Light & Magic Launches ILM TV

Industrial Light & Magic expanding its offering of best-in-class visual effects and animation services to include the streaming and episodic television market with a new division: ILM TV. The division will be based out of ILM’s new 47,000 square foot London studio and supported by the company’s global locations in San Francisco, Vancouver and Singapore.

The ILM TV team will be lead by Visual Effects Supervisors Hayden Jones and Jonathan Privett alongside Executive Producers, Louise Hussey and Stefan Drury. Previously, the team set up and oversaw DNEG’s television division; winning a BAFTA for Special, Visual and Graphic Effects for their work on BLACK MIRROR.

ILM TV’s first projects will be Lucasfilm’s eagerly anticipated live action series based in the Star Wars universe, THE MANDALORIAN, being developed by Jon Favreau and Superman prequel series KRYPTON, now in its second season, based on DC characters from Warner Horizon Scripted Television for SYFY.

Star Wars Celebration: Media Registration Now Open

Media registration is now open for Star Wars Celebration. Star Wars Celebration media applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM CST on February 22, 2019 unless we reach maximum capacity at an earlier date. We strongly recommend you apply early as once all media badges are allocated, no more will be released. There will be no onsite media registration at Star Wars Celebration.

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow (November 6), HasbroToyShop will be offering the exclusive 6″ Black Series Echo Base Set with Han Solo and Princess Leia.

Update: It looks like Entertainment Earth is going to be fulfilling orders for this as Hasbro’s product page now has the following update:

“Item will be available for pre-order* on Entertainment Earth starting on 11/6/18. See site for details.”

Rumor Report: Star Wars “Story In A Box” Update 2

You may have caught our previous rumor reports for this last month but it looks like In Demand Toys in the UK as posted the first images of the upcoming “story in a box” aka Galaxy of Adventures assortment from Hasbro. Each set includes a figure with acccessories and a mini comic. You can see the UPC and SKU info for the first 2 waves in our Master UPC/DPCI/SKU List.

Rumor Report: TVC – Looking Forward to the Past

We are only two months away from 2019 and from what we’ve seen thus far (officially), Hasbro’s mantra is basically “what’s old is new again” thanks to the reissue of older figures (essentially repacks) but with an updated look care of Photo Real tech being applied to the 3.75″ scale. Some don’t like the approach of having so many “repacks” for super-articulated figures, especially at today’s price point.  The later half of the year looks brighter for the line and, thankfully, there are a few surprises left make their way across the Dune Sea of the retail landscape….
