Toyguide Update: MH16 Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the next addition for the 2012 “Darth Maul” product line. We continue with another new figure in the Movie Heroes assortment: Obi-Wan Kenobi now with Light-Up Lightsaber Blade!

PROS: Head sculpt captures the young Ewan McGregor’s likeness to a tee. The light-up blade is intense and looks very cool once illuminated. Surprisingly, there is a good amount of articulation in the figure overall – save for the right arm. Figure looks great with a soft goods robe (not included) to hide the figure’s larger torso.

CONS: Obviously, this figure won’t be for everyone. The torso is rather bulky to accommodate the electronics and batteries. The right arm is sculpted in a static pose, again to allow for the electronics. Lightsaber blade only stays illuminated when button is held down* – a toggle switch would have been welcome. Batteries are non-removable so future replacement and eventual corrosion is an issue.

Toyguide Update: MH15 Darth Maul

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the next addition for the 2012 “Darth Maul” product line. We continue with another “new” figure in the Movie Heroes assortment: Darth Maul

PROS: Nice head sculpt and facial deco. Action feature does work well making this a fine “toy”.

CONS: Sub-standard articulation at is what is now a “premium price”. You’ll spend about as much time playing with this figure as he had screen time in Episode I.
