Hasbro’s focus is going to be on the upcoming films moving forward, so it’s doubtful we are going to see them dip into the existing films for reference material for a while, but there’s still quite a few characters that have yet to be realized in plastic form, or could be released again in some manner.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be exploring some of these options in our forums, and invite you to join in the discussions here.
Forum member digktialx informed us in our forums of a kickstarter they are launching that may be right up the alley for collectors looking for ways to store their loose figures in style, while at the same time protecting their treasures.
For more details, check out their campaign by clicking here.
Forum member Raylen has updated us with some fantastic new diorama items to fill the needs of collectors. Check out his latest items, which are sure to be another hit by clicking here.
Personal Note: I’ve ordered Raylen’s products many times, and it’s clear he is a true fan of the hobby. We see it in his posts in the forums, and in the quality, fair pricing, and amazing service with his products. So if you like to display your Star Wars 3.75″ collection loose, these items will truly enhance your collection and bring life to it. And it’s not like the company that makes the figures is going to suddenly wake up and make things this cool – they’ve had TWO DECADES now, and still ignore requests for these items.
Forum member Jodo checks in with a new store report – he spotted the Mission Series Wicket/Scout Trooper 2-pk at his local Target in Edwardsville, IL.
Personal Note: Both reports I’ve seen so far indicate to me, Target is still splitting cases at distribution centers. Hopefully we’ll see evidence of some actual FULL cases shipping to Target stores again soon!
Toy runs at places like Wal-Mart and Target may be a complete waste of time for most of us, but if you have Walgreens stores in your area, it’s definitely worth swinging by to see what the situation is.
Most stores receive at least one delivery each week, and are often getting in a few Black Series figures with each shipment – just today, reader Darth Stringfield spotted at one Walgreens store a more interesting selection of figures than I’ve seen at all the local Target stores combined over the past year.
How are those Store Finds going? Let us know in the forums!
Forum member Jodo has posted another good read on his blog about the issues we as collectors are facing these days (a follow up to his previous article).
Check it out here, and share your own thoughts in our comments section or in the forums.
Personal Note: Hopefully Hasbro gets things back on track with the Episode VII launch!
I’ve felt for a while that the Black Series Ree Yees has been sporting a head a tad too small, so I dusted off my dremel so I could see what the POTF2 version’s head looked like on there.
Does it look better? Or worse? Does it really matter? I dunno – but I think I prefer the larger head. If you’ve considered making this alteration, head to the forums for a closer look.
This weekend we highlight the customizing work of one of the most creative members of our forums – mousedroidhoojib. Diving into various EU sources and official film characters, you never know what project mousedroidhoojib is going to show off next. Check out the latest updates after the jump!
We’ve seen the official trailer countless times, some great concept art, and even some apparent 6″ scale figure prototypes, but there are so many questions on what direction Hasbro is going to be taking with the toy line for The Force Awakens.
Another cool art image was recently revealed by Indie Revolver, which appears to show a very cool new ship design for the next film. How would this translate into a toy? Pretty awesome, one would think, if Hasbro chooses to make it. Hopefully we’ll get a taste of what’s coming in February during Toy Fair. Until then, head on over to the forums to join in the EP7 toy discussions, and remember, spoilers apply.
