The newest Jumbo Star Wars action figure goes back, way back, to the beginnings of Star Wars! Based on the concept art for Darth Vader, this new 12-inch figure features an all-new concept-inspired head sculpt, a new blue-and-black paint scheme, a vinyl cape and a retractable lightsaber! It comes packaged on a resealable, retro-style blister card, so you can hang him on your wall or take him out and play with him.
Hot Toys has also revealed as special 40th Anniversary Edition of their 1:6 scale Darth Vader figure from The Empire Strikes Back. This version features specially designed retro-inspired packaging. For full image gallery and product details, check out HotToys.com.hk.
The other day I managed to purchase a few new items at Target (they were not register blocked nor did I resort to any trickery or sweet talking) one of which was the new 5” Galaxy of Adventures Darth Vader. Above is a quick size comparison showing how this new line measures up with others. For $10 and with as much articulation as a TVC or TBS figure, this line is pretty nice.
As we get ever closer to the official reveals of many rumored and confirmed products heading to shelves and online stores for Triple Force Friday, I thought I’d drop this discovery that I just made. There is a new Vintage Collection item currently on the way to the US called “Vader’s Challenge”. No word yet on contents, price or who will be carrying it but details will follow as they are available.
The product leaks continue in Canada at Walmart. @KyloCollector shares this image on Instagram from ti.sparkles showing off the first wave of 12″ Hero Series figures for Triple Force Friday.
Although today was stated by Target’s corporate site as the release date for the Retro Collection Prototype Darth Vader, most stores have not received any of these figures. Fortunately a check this morning via the Target website at a store in Ocean, NJ yielded 34 of them. Some were set in the Funko section and two pegs worth in the Star Wars section. Best of luck to those on the hunt and thanks to Jonathan R. for the hook up.
This video showing a re-imagined final duel by Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi aboard the Death Star by FixtitinPost has been making the rounds online recently.
It’s pretty astounding and worth taking a few minutes to watch. Check it out and let us know your thoughts!
Amazon currently has the new Black Series Hyperreal Darth Vader listed at $49.99. And before the haters start to chime in that this is already a failure, you’ll note that this isn’t a sale – it’s the regular listing price with no discounts/savings. You can also see why our exclusive report on this figure was originally listed at this price, then revised to reflect Hasbro’s MSRP of $79.99. We’re not sure what’s going on here but if you’re at all interested in this, I suggest ordering it now to lock in the preorder price guarantee.
You may have caught our early morning social media posts (on Twitter and Instagram) but in case you didn’t, Amazon is offering $40 off of their exclusive LEGO Darth Vader’s Castle for Prime members.
