Older TVC Continues to Ship to TRU

040713yak2

Last year’s third wave of TVC is continuing to show up in greater numbers now (about a year late!), which is good in a sense, but also one has to wonder if things would be better if this wave just showed up at discounters instead; considering this wave (like Wave 2) is smothered in seven more TPM carry forwards.

On any note, Toys”R”us seems to be the best place to have a chance at scoring newer figures lately, but reports are also coming in that Wal-Mart and Target are finally receiving more TVC shipments as well.  Good luck, and as always, your experience will vary.

More 2012 Product hitting Discount Stores

The evidence of just how bad 2012 was for Hasbro continues to surface as even more of the weak offerings from Movie Heroes pile up at discount chains like TJ Maxx.  If you passed on most of the vehicle repacks like so many other collectors, they are showing up at TJ Maxx and Marshalls for $16.99 and the battle packs for $11.99.

Facebook reader Adam V. also reports that Dewbacks are appearing at Ross stores for $13.99.

Toyguide Update: El-Les (CW47)

2010CW47_preview

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our look back at some of the older Clone Wars figures that we have yet to add to the archives. We continue with the bounty hunter and clone cadet trainer, El-Les (CW47).

PROS: During this era of the Clone Wars line, Hasbro’s figures were at their apex – the likenesses to their onscreen counterparts were superb and the articulation was beyond generous – those attributes continue here with El-Les. His overall design/sculpt is exactly like what was seen on the show and since he was part of a fan favorite episode, Clone Cadets, collectors snatched him up quickly.

CONS: None.

Toyguide Update: Seripas (CW61)

2011CW61_preview

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our look back at some of the older Clone Wars figures that we have yet to add to the archives. We continue with the formidable bounty hunter, Seripas (CW61).

PROS: From the moment Seripas debuted during The Clone Wars’ second season, fans of the line wanted this figure. Hasbro did an excellent job of recreating the animated character – the deco, articulation and details are fantastic – and the inclusion of the removable Seripas figure was executed remarkably well courtesy of a flip-up hatch. The suit itself is loaded with articulation and the ability to hide the weaponry into the arms make this figure that is not only great to display but fun to play with too.

CONS: It is a little difficult for the figure to hold the included sniper rifle convincingly due to the stiffness of the hands and the large forearms. Hands tend to pop out of their sockets when attempting this as well. A great figure that lacked significant distribution in the general retail market.

Toyguide Update: Boba Fett (CW32)

CW32-preview

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our look back at some of the older Clone Wars figures that we have yet to add to the archives. We continue with everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett (CW32).

PROS: Hasbro pulled out all of the stops for this version of the Boba Fett when compared to the previous “UBP” version. This one is loaded with articulation which ball-joints everywhere, even the hips, resulting in a figure that can be posed and infinite number of ways look great doing it. The deco, overall sculpt and likeness to the animated character is spot on and the addition of the jetpack and harness are great touches, too.

CONS: This was again, one of the more rare Clone Wars figures in 2010 which was a shame because it is such a fine figure.
