Imperial Walkers Marching into TRU

at_at_tru

The latest TVC offering is appearing at more Toys”R”us stores across the United States, and will set you back $129.99 if you’re so inclined to pick up this behemoth.

Note to Hasbro/TRU though – if this doesn’t sell all that well, just remember this is the 3rd packaging variation of the AT-AT in the past couple years!   We do love the big items but we also need you to throw a well-executed Death Star playset and a Sail Barge into the mix!

Awesome Illustrated Vintage Card Back Poster

classic_poster

Vintage fans take note. On May the 4th this fantastic vintage card back poster will be available for purchase from talented illustrator, Christopher Lee via dribbble. Here are some details on the piece:

My newest (and probably last) compendium poster pays tribute Star Wars and the iconic Kenner card back from the 80’s. This one in particular is the 92 card back which covered the entire basic figure assortment.

All of the characters were designed with the toys as reference. I took a few liberties, but the details are limited to what was provided by the figures alone.

The print will be in my shop by May the 4th (appropriately) 🙂

I’ll post a store link when I have it up.

Older TVC Continues to Ship to TRU

040713yak2

Last year’s third wave of TVC is continuing to show up in greater numbers now (about a year late!), which is good in a sense, but also one has to wonder if things would be better if this wave just showed up at discounters instead; considering this wave (like Wave 2) is smothered in seven more TPM carry forwards.

On any note, Toys”R”us seems to be the best place to have a chance at scoring newer figures lately, but reports are also coming in that Wal-Mart and Target are finally receiving more TVC shipments as well.  Good luck, and as always, your experience will vary.

Star-Wars-Action-News-Enhanced-Podcast-Feed2-300x225

Wizard World conventions are a staple for sci-fi and comic book fans.  Having produced their multi-city conventions for years in Philadelphia, Chicago, and many other cities, they now expand their reach deeper in the midwest this year with Wizard World St. Louis!  Marjorie and Arnie were at the con meeting Star Wars fans, celebrities, and seeing what Star Wars collectibles were for sale!  With the 2014 St. Louis convention already announced, should you save the date?  Listen to Arnie & Marjorie’s report to find out!

Also this week, Johnathan is back with a look at the 2013 Movie Heroes action figures, Jerry gives a Vintage Viewpoint from Endor, and Steve the Gingerprince reports in from the UK–with a chance for one lucky listener to win some of the 2013 Yoda carded Clone Wars figures not released in the USA!

Many stores have multiple areas where they pile up their clearance toys, which means if you dig a bit you might be able to score some great finds at drastically reduced prices, like forum member darthapathy did with the AT-ST crew members for just $5.50.
