A long-standing question has been answered regarding the details for the rumored set of Skywalker Saga two packs that we revealed back in May. These sets were found on shelf at a Walmart in NY and they reveal that they are a series of gold-painted 3.75” figures on special black and gold foil cardbacks ($14.97 each). Click on through to check out Luke and Chewie, Vader and Stormtrooper, & Han and Leia. Thanks to DarthChuckMc and James for the images.
Instagram follower Jeremy B sends us this image confirming our May report of an upcoming exclusive 6” Black Series Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure. A friend of his purchased it from a recent Disney storage sale.
Walmart was originally thought to be the retailer of this yet to be announced exclusive, but based on new info that may not be the case.
Oh boy, remember that white “First Edition” Sith Trooper that leaked out a few week ago, well, that isn’t the only one as the entire first wave features these variants as found in at Walmart in Puerto Rico via Instrammer @a_creature_inamask.
Mr. D. Martin Myatt, @thestarwarsgeneration/@bluemi.lk, has posted some awesome in-hand images of the new TVC figures starting to hit Walmart in Canada. The images on Instagram also confirm Poe Dameron as VC160.
Star Wars The Vintage Collection Facebook Group member Jason C. reports finding the upcoming Triple Force Friday wave of Vintage Collection figures at Walmart in Canada. And not only did he find it, he was able to purchase them at the clearance price for $9 each! He also notes that the new 6″ Black Series figures were on shelf as well.
We’ve been sent word via Jason H. that his local Naperville, IL Walmart has an endcap of the Vintage Collection Jabba’s Palace Adventure Sets. A quick check via brickseek shows 11 Walmarts in IL with stock on hand. Also of interest is that he also found the Tatooine Skiff at the same store, yet no stock shows on Brickseek for that location.
Now that we’ve all had time to calm down since SDCC and come to terms with the fact that Hasbro is severely hamstrung by Lucasfilm (which is nothing new in a summer before a film release), we are here to put some lipstick on that puffer pig and remind you of what we can expect* for the rest of the year and beyond by recapping over 30 EXCLUSIVE RUMOR REPORTS that you won’t read anywhere else, and if you do, they were likely reposted/referenced from this site (usually without attribution).
*All rumors are subject to change and/or cancellation by the manufactuer and nothing is confirmed despite evidence of such products in development and/or slated for release. Captain America, nor his ass, endorse this information.
Facebook member Darren O. reports finding a few of the Walmart Exclusive Jabba’s Palace Adventure Sets in store in San Diego, CA. He also managed to find several of the Lando Skiff Guard TVC figures as well.
As a follow up to our original exclusive rumor report from April, we have acquired new UPCs and Walmart SKUs for the first wave of TVC figures slated to be released for Force Friday on October 4 for the official kick off of merchandise for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Interestingly, we found info for yet another Luke Skywalker from A New Hope that has a unique UPC from the Yavin Ceremony version which we first revealed in March. This could be either the Stormtrooper Disguise or X-wing pilot figure that were revealed at Star Wars Celebration, the latter of would make sense considering the release of his TVC X-wing Fighter this year.
We have also added the E9 assortment UPC and SKU (which will change for the Vintage Collection) to our Master List as well.
I trust everyone had a relaxing Memorial Day Weekend break with family and friends. As I get caught up on my inbox of emails and social notifications, I’m seeing a ton of reports concerning delays and cancellation notices on orders from Walmart for Jabba’s Palace playset, cancellations of Amazon preorders for figures from Black Series wave 21 and TVC Skiffs, and finally, Target has changed the status of the Retro Collection DPCI to “discontinued” after only a couple of weeks of availability (if you saw them at all). I know it’s frustrating for today’s “gotta have it now” collector, but I urge you all to show restraint and NOT reward scalpers or fall victim to algorithmic pricing for any of these items as they will all be available eventually for retail price or less (at least in the U.S.). Reach out to friends and trusted acquaintances in the collector community to help fill those holes in your collection and in turn do the same for others.
