Look Familiar?

My oh my, what an uninspiring time the retail scene is these days for Star Wars…

5POA for the Solo line is front loaded with non-Solo movie figures,  6″ TBS is a rare store find at all, and TVC has kicked off with carry forwards that Walmart is pushing to the clearance section (hopefully this stops with Wave 2 and we see true peg space dedicated to them).

The only place worth even stopping to check out the Star Wars section at all in my neck of the woods is Target, who at least seems to be trying (but even there, the scene is pretty sad) .  How goes it in your area?

Meanwhile, in Mattel’s Jurassic World section…

Customizer Mega Spotlight

We love the customizing community that shares their work in our forums and it’s time for a long overdue spotlight.

First up,  forum member RookieOne kicks things off with several custom figures from the Rebel Alliance, including quite a few from Rogue One.  Check those out here!

Next, johnmorog shows off a great custom Mud Trooper – while you’re waiting for Hasbro to get around to this figure, check out how he made his (including WIP pics) in his customizing thread.

Last but certainly not least, customizer nighthawk continues to pump out customs in both 3.75″ and 6″ scale, with some real gems that add some much needed articulation to Hasbro’s  5poa line.

Solo: A Star Wars Story – 3.75″ Wind-Up Fight Droids

If you’re looking for more cool 3.75″ style figures to add to your Solo:  A Star Wars Story collection, you can order some “wind up” Fight Droids through Shop Disney that look to be pretty close to in scale with the standard 3.75″ scale brand by clicking here.

Special thanks to Yakface Forum member EndorJunkie for the heads up!

Solo Underperforming Out of the Gate

It looks like Disney’s latest Star Wars film isn’t meeting their expectations at the box office so far.  Will that change?  Are you planning on seeing it?  Or seeing it again if you already had one showing?  Share your thoughts!

Personal Note:  I liked the movie quite a bit.  It wasn’t epic in my opinion, but it was a worthwhile addition to the franchise.  I think it’s worth seeing on the big screen as it’s a lot of fun.  I know some are boycotting this movie due to their feelings about The Last Jedi, but one also has to factor in “Star Wars fatigue” right now with a second film in just 6 months…  and I can say that there are a lot of people that I know that weren’t even aware this movie was being made (which surprised me – that might be something to think about too).
