Rumor Report: New Black Series Mandalorian Season 2 Figure Listing

A new 6″ Black Series figure listing has been found on the Australian and Italian Amazon sites. It is unknown who the character is but Amazon AU lists it as being a character from The Mandalorian Season 2. As we’ve previously reported, this figure also has dual code names for the same Hasbro SKU: “Cheetah” and “Haiku”. Thanks to JTPrime for bringing this to our attention.

Rumor Report: More Preorders Coming Soon?

It’s hard to know what to expect with Hasbro’s upcoming Fan Fest in two weeks, but it looks like there are several preorders coming judging by the 12 listings added to certain vendor’s website. The new listings break evenly between Vintage Collection and Black Series, which is nice, but I believe four of the TVC figures are for the upcoming repack/repaint wave. The two “new” TVC listings feature code names I haven’t seen until now “FOUNTAIN” and “MARKER” – these may line up with the rumored TVC Gaming Greats figures but it’s difficult to know at this point until I find some additional info and with the doubling up of code names now. As for the Black Series figures, these should all be from the next wave and feature Aurra Sing, Tech, Q9-0 and others.

Since we’re still a couple weeks out, details may change so stay tuned.

TVC Code Names: Now There are Two of Them (and that’s bad)

For some time, we’ve been providing code names via our Master List for upcoming product for the Black Series and Vintage Collection products. Recently we’ve noticed that some figures have started to double up on the code names in order to further mask their identities from prying eyes until they are officially announced. TBS has been doing it and now it appears matters are worse and TVC is employing the tactic as well. Read on for my theory that may impact the number of figures coming for TVC in the near future.

Interview / preview of The Vintage Collection Archive Edition Book

Jerry Hancock, from the Georgia Alliance of Star Wars Collectors (GASWC), sat down with Rich Alot and Derryl DePriest, co-authors of the upcoming Vintage Collection Archive Book, and talked about this exciting project and its importance in documenting the creation of the The Vintage Collection toy line. The Star Wars The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book is a comprehensive historical manuscript and detailed visual archive of one of Hasbro’s most popular lines of 3.75-inch Star Wars action figures, The Vintage Collection. Some of the book’s pages were shown for the first time during this conversation. Additionally, they talked about some of Derryl’s time working on the Vintage Collection at Hasbro when he worked there.

Kir Kanos It Is

From the outset of its reveal yesterday, fans were quick to point out that the Carnor Jax figure shown was actually Kir Kanos. Hasbro has made an official change to the product page for this figure stating the following:

Please be aware that this character was mislabeled Carnor Jax on packaging when it is in fact Kir Kanos. We apologize for the oversight and want to assure you that we are constantly refining our processes to provide our fans with the high quality, accurate figures they expect from us.
