Collectors and fans of Hasbro’s Vintage Collection (TVC) line have launched a Change.org petition to spur them to make more NEW 3.75″ TVC figures. Joining the movement is simple, just take this link and sign to show your support.
As a follow up to a tease I posted on Instagram back in March, I have now found an accessible link via the Walmart app to a listing for a new Vintage Collection playset to be revealed and released this year. It is not exclusive to Walmart (thank God) and isn’t a reissue of the POTF2 version. It is suspected to be the long-rumored Carbon Freezing Chamber playset from The Empire Strikes Back. Still no word as to how many (if any) figures it will include.
Update: It may include a single Stormtrooper and have electronics.
Poking around with the Walmart app in the wee hours of the morning, I managed to uncover 4 new Black Series listings: one from The Rise of Skywalker and three from The Mandalorian. No official word on who they are yet (but I have some ideas). I’ve added these 4 figures to the expanding UPC/DPCI/SKU Master List.
Preorders for the GameStop Exclusive (US) 6″ Black Series Stormtrooper Commander Gaming Greats figure from The Force Unleashed are now starting to process and charges are being seen on customer’s bank statements. Keep an eye on your order(s) for notifications.
A few months back, we posted a new Yak’s Top Ten, for the insanely popular Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
The results are in – check out which figures Yakface readers said they want to see made the most in The Vintage Collection by clicking here.
We also have tallies for the most wanted additions to The Black Series as well, check out the 6-inch scale results here.
Surprised by the results? Which of these do you think are on Hasbro’s short list? Share your thoughts here or in our forums. Plus, we’ll be posting another Yak’s Top Ten soon!
Hunting through some overseas shipping info shows that the 6″ Black Series Han Solo in Carbonite figure is currently on the way to the U.S.. Judging by the destination, this shipment looks to be headed toward the East Coast for the orders placed through Hasbro Pulse.
Fan sites and collectors everywhere are rallying behind the movement to show Hasbro, and more importantly the retailers that carry Hasbro’s product, the demand for The Vintage Collection (TVC) and 3.75″ figures is STILL strong in the collecting community. Hasbro continually looks for metrics to justify the creation of products for this long-running line. By first voting with our wallets in support of products created for TVC, and second by using the power social media, we hope we will be sending a clear message that we want these products and we want stores (both brick and mortar and online) to carry more of them – not just in quantity but in variety, too.
To those who use social media as part of their regular communication with fellow collectors, use the hashtags #backTVC, #fightforTVC and/or #save375 to show Hasbro your passion for the line as there are some great things coming for The Vintage Collection this year and next. To tweak a line from Darth Sidious: we have the power to save the ones we love. And what we love is The Vintage Collection and the 3.75″ action figure format.
If you were holding out hope for the long rumored TBS Rebels reissues panning out – here’s the proof (including Zeb) as shown by the GameStop system. Also shown TVC Hondo & Fives – thanks to toyshiz and gthec0ollect0r the pics.
Update: GameStop has changed the names of the figures to generic listing using “SW BL #” to correlate with the previously posted list. I have posted above a guide to which figure is which and included the GameStop sku in case you plan on visiting your store and placing a preorder (where applicable).
Update 2: Zeb has now been updated in GameStop’s system to read as “SW BL 1”
