TLJ Retail Leaks Continue

So many reports are coming in on social media of various products from The Last Jedi being stocked on shelves ahead of the September 1 street date.  It seems at this point, every major retailer has had specific stores with product leaks from their stockroom.

In most instances, the product won’t ring up, but in some smaller chains it will, and some of the bigger chains are over-riding the “do not sell” message at the register out of confusion or whatever reason(s).

So, who all has seen product in the stores thus far?  What are your impressions of the “in person” quality?  Are you feeling this line will be more successful at retail than TFA and Rogue One?   Share your thoughts here or in the forums!

TLJ: Street Date Woes

I came across my first TLJ item on Thursday at a Walmart in my area (Ski Speeder w/ Poe Dameron).  Even though the store had put out a full display of this vehicle (price tag $39.72), as I was afraid of, the register denied the sale.

The employee at the register said he thought “The product had been recalled because of lead paint.” – the customer behind me (a mom and her daughter) stated, “Oh my gosh!”

Obviously, that is not the case and I explained to them both that Disney must have a street date on the product since it’s for an upcoming movie.  But Hasbro/Disney, please stop these street dates.  Let your retail partners sell the product when a customer is wanting to buy it.  This tight lip product reveal policy, and subsequent “Do Not Sell” at the register is tightening the window of product to actually be sold, and also confusing store employees and consumers alike.

UPDATE – One of our readers (Joe H) was able to pick this up at retail in his area, and he posted some great loose pics for us on our Facebook page.  A few of them are in our forums for your viewing pleasure.  Just click on the image above to see them.

Also, the release date for these items officially is September 1st, aka Force Friday.

Two Lost Dejarik Aliens Found

While catching up on the latest Adam Savage Tested YouTube videos, I came across a new one which covers two lost alien characters originally designed to be used on the holochess scene in A New Hope. Phil Tippet  and Dennis Muren originally designed 10 dejarik aliens but only 8 could fit on the table. Thought lost to time, they have now been brought back to life in a way and are available via a Kickstarter tier from Phil Tippet’s Mad God project. Watch the Tested video to see how it was done.
