The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Wedge Antilles from the 2011 Vintage Collection’s Return of the Jedi wave (Wave 3) case revision 11.
PROS: Finally, Wedge receives a basic (non-exclusive) carded release. Likeness is above average and looks great on the Vintage-style card back.
CONS: It’s hard to believe we waited so long for Wedge considering there is nothing “new” here other than the head. The helmet is very snug on the figure’s head when worn so the head may come off the post when trying to remove the helmet. The limited availability of the Vintage Collection may hamper the ability to find this figure which is sending secondary market prices for this latest version of Wedge to ridiculous heights.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
A new Yakfinities Customizing Challenge will be launching soon in the Yakface forums!

The Yakface/Hasbro QnA returns this week with questions submitted on 4/29. In this session get official answers regarding the availability of the proper Spacetrooper, a confirmation of a delayed vehicle in “Vintage-style” packaging and the deafening silence regarding distribution of figures this year. Click through for the details.
An interesting auction has popped up on eBay for a “new” Y-Wing Fighter that looks to be a Vintage box exclusive to Toys”R”Us. As you can see, the box art re-creates the 80’s Kenner version but with modern figures instead. The photo is just blurry and angled enough to raise suspicions regarding its authenticity. Have a look for yourself then leave a comment here or in our forums with your thoughts.
UPDATE: While we don’t have official confirmation just yet, this does coincide with comments Hasbro made regarding a revisiting of the Y-Wing to include a more detailed cockpit and functional droid socket. The Toys”R”Us Exclusive “Vintage” Y-Wing joins the K-Mart Exclusive “Vintage” B-Wing revealed a couple weeks ago and there is word of another previously released vehicle that will be receiving the “Vintage” box treatment as well. More as it develops…
UPDATE 2: Looks like the seller has updated the auction posting an image of the other side of the box complete with TVC logo. Again not the greatest photo but it does further confirm this officially un-announced exclusive.
No foolin’ this time. Lucasfilm has officially launched a teaser site for Celebration VI! While not much is happening on there yet, you can sign up for a newsletter to receive the latest developments as they happen. Head to starwarscelebration.com to subscribe!
Our friends at Sandtroopers.com have posted the first look at the Stealth Ops Clone Trooper (aka “Commander Blackout”) from the “Cat and Mouse” episode from The Clone Wars Season 2. Head on over for a carded preview. Note: the image shows is a multi-lingual carded sample and the US product will different slightly.
UPDATE: Also note that this looks to be a different figure than what was revealed yesterday at JediInsider as evidenced by the helmet deco and lack of space trooper gear. Word is that the “Blackout” figure will be an Exclusive to Toys”R”Us.
