Solo: A Star Wars Story managed to snag an Oscar nomination in the Visual Effects category for this year’s Academy Awards. It will have stiff competition against films like Avengers: Infinity War and Ready Player One both of which had visual effects supplied by ILM.

After an extensive search online, we’ve located and added the UPCs and Walmart SKUs for the second wave of 6″ Black Series Archive (BSA) figures to our 2019Master List of products. As you recall, Hasbro officially announced back in October at NYCC 2018 that wave 2 would consist of Anakin Skywalker, Yoda and the Biker Scout/Scout Trooper. Darth Maul* on the other hand has been on our rumor lists for a while and based on the UPC info found above, we now have Maul’s accurate (yet unofficial) confirmation. Case breakdown isn’t known at this time but we can guess that it will be similar to Wave 1 with a 2x pack out.
*Note: the image for Maul is not of the actual BSA figure.
While Hasbro’s performance over the past year(s) has been pretty disappointing for most 3.75″ fans, I must say they surprised me with the attention they gave the new R1-J5 droid in the Resistance toy line.
I highly recommend picking up this figure if you see it, even if you are passing on the rest of the line. This is a cool toy and reminds me of the product they were pushing a decade ago – check out more pics of this droid (including his removable part features) in the forums.
Kmart.com orders from their $7.50 TVC sale are showing up, and as most others, my order was wrong. The above figures do not appear to be Death Troopers or Dr. Aphra.
Personal Note: At least these figures arrived very mint on package (they handled the contents way better than I expected and these might be the best condition cardbacks on TVC that I’ve seen), but it’s still not what I ordered. I’m too lazy to go through the hassle of returning these, and will find a customizing use for the figures, but I won’t be ordering from them again. For anything.
Target stores officially can start selling Resistance figures tomorrow, January 15. So if you are on the hunt for these, or have been turned down because of Target enforcing the street date (which is ridiculous considering how low key this show is), then be on the lookout starting tomorrow.
Finally, Walmart has corrected their inflated pricing for their exclusive TVC Mimban Stormtrooper to $12.99. Now if they could just restock them.
Update: Using the Walmart.com chat feature, I was able to confirm that when the product is in stock, price adjustments can be made to your orders for the lower price point until April 9, 2019.
